Last I heard, OTH worked for a quite limited number of games, but I may be wrong. It is a good text tool though, and if accurate J2E dictionaries were available it would be an excelent option for japanese companies to sell directly to foreigners

… it’s a pain to make it through a whole game trying to make sense out of what that produces, though. It’s great for low-story high-picture content stuff, of course…

Yup, it’s pretty much babelfishy. I only tried it once, but decided that I’d be spending my time better by trying to learn Japanese rather than trying to make sense of what OTH produced. Besides, I hate playing games in windowed mode, it just ruins the great CGs.

I’m afraid OTH will not help very much, Italicus.

Even if we desconsiderate the fact not every japanese BGame will work with this program and the babelfish-like translation, OTH is an On-Line Web-based translator program. In other words, you will need Internet Connection all the time to put OTH to work!!

And you thought you had problems with VMate…

If you can connect all day then there really isn't any point to hate V-mate. There are minor restrictions, but nothing compared to that online translator. GC translations are great, and every game you buy from them will work. Can't say the same about the translator. This is not a way around V-mate by any means, but it would be fun to try it with some Japanese games just to get the jist of the storyline.
