Unnecessary. Tool for bragging, showing off, being anti-social, annoying other people.
Plain unnecessary.

Sadly many companies now require people to have these so they can reach them at all times, in truth it is a tracking tool too in it's own way. I agree it is anti-social when I see a couple on a date and the guy (for some reason it is never the girl) is talking on the cell phone as she sits across from him looking understandably bored.

It is annoying to have the driver of the car in front of you talking on the cell phone (dangerous too) or have the people that are next to you in a line talking in great detail about what they are buying when you and frankly the person on the other end probably doesn't care.

VCR's ah the joy of being able to tape your favorite shows if you were out at the time. Great invention and the microwave, I live off of microwave food weeks at a time sometimes, great invention.

Yeah, but I never really did consider it straight porn. It was more a way of fooling myself, justifying my actions so I wouldn't get a guilty conscience. Didn't work in the end though.

See, see!? See that halo above my head now? I've been cleansed of all sin!!

Right...

No VCRs? Holy, how old ARE you!? At least we had a BETA one when I was a kid...

Cell phones are very irritating to me. In almost ANY place, there’s ALWAYS someone calling. Most of the time, they even talk loud or loud enough for everyone to hear. It’s as if there were no people aroud them! While their conversation is obviously private. And it’s annoying people because of the above and the fact that they don’t want to hear it or don’t care.
And you see often people calling WHILE DRIVING. It’s forbidden, and very dangerous. Are they retarded?!

Yes, I see the halo, AG3.

I think cell phones have given people the misconception that they not only have to be in continually contact with each other, but anyone that calls them at anytime must be important call, even if it later turns out to be a detailed description of what’s currently on television.

That said I really do miss payphones and am surprised when I still see them at different locations. I thought they were like pagers being things of the past. Pagers now with cell phones, so pagers by themselves are fading.

They are still there for public service, which are mandatory.
