Are there any soundtracks of these games out, especially to Snow Drop? For some reason, I’ve grown pretty attached to the MP3 of the Intro of Snow Drops.
Actually I’ve has released quite a few compilation albums, namely Regret,Verge,Prime Prototype and Dear Feeling.
You can check out their works at their official Fan site here :-
http://www7.big.or.jp/~bx/ive/
You can grab their compilations albums from CD Japan,I believe.
Well, their Discography page is here :-
http://www7.big.or.jp/~bx/ive/ive/disc/
The closest you get to a full compilation album of songs they compose for games are on “Regret” and “Verge”.
If you’ve got a CD writer, you could take the tracks from the games and burn them to a seperate CD, but there are some games like Tokimeki Check-In that have the soundtracks already in CD-Audio format, so you can just listen to it whenever you like in any normal CD player (Tracks 2 - 18 on the second CD for TCI). Once I have enough songs from bishoujo games to fill a CD, I plan putting them all on a single CD (for my own personal use of course ), I can’t get the TCI theme out of my head, it’s awsome!

Eto... According to France's law, I can do whatever I want for my own personal use of whatever software I legally acquired... So, I'm free to even deassemble the code (for my own personal use)... (fair use, I think).

Hmm, guess that depends on how you define "personal use". Like those fun FBI warnings on videos and such. Most people say that you can show those movies to large groups if you're not charging. But my old dorm had a movie night that got shutdown because it was told that it was in violation of the "personal use" aspect. (Which was odd, nobody was charging admission and the average number of people showing up was about 5, only difference was, it was on a big screen rather than a little dorm tv.) Fun with laws... quote:Please don't worry about it... I'm not copying it for anyone else or doing any type of piracy, I just happen to enjoy listening to some of it on my personal CD player when I'm on the bus going to and from college, so it's only for my own personal use.

No, you cannot - trust us. When you buy a product that is copyrighted, all you are purchasing is the right to use the product. You are not purchasing the rights to the product, you are buying a limited license to use it as it was intended to be used for your own personal enjoyment. If you mess with the code for our games, for example, you are in violation of international copyright law - France is a member of the Berne Convention just as Japan and the USA are. You would be violating the rights of both the original Japanese companies as well as Peach Princess if you tamper with our games. Therefore, do not do this... not unless you obtain our permission, first.Thank you.
Kumiko-chan,
First, I want to clarify one point: I don't intend at all to do anything with the code of your game. I just want to discuss the legal issues about that subject. So don't get mad at me.
Anyway...
Note that I said "deassemble", "decompile" if you prefer. I wasn't talking about
"messing"/"modifying" it...
Anyway, since my knowledge about that matter was some years ago, I checked and...
Well, it'd be easier if you could understand French, but I'll try to find the correct words (probably not the legislative words but...) to make it clear.
Anyway, the directive 91/250/CEE about the legal protection of computer programs (dated 05.14.1991; appeared in the official law announcements bulletin # L122 on 05.17.1991 at pges 0042-0046; affecting all EEC countries) that you can find at
http://www.droit-technologie.org/fr/3_1.asp?legislation_id=21, specifies that:
"Article 6: decompiling
1. You don't need the authorization of the legal owner of the copyrights when the reproduction of the code or the translation of the form of the code is necessary to obtain the informations necessary to the interworking of a computer software independantly made with other softwares, with the following restrictions:
a) the acts are done by the legal license owner or for him by someone given the rights to do so
b) the informations necessary to the interworking wasn't easily and quickly accessible to people of point a)
c) those acts are limited to the part of the program necessary to that interworking
etc."
This article is also at http://www.legalis.net/legalnet/cpilog.htm, where it is translated into normal language for normal citizens (i.e. non-legislative words) at:
http://www.celog.fr/cpi/lv1_tt2.htm#122-6 (legal text) and
http://www.celog.fr/cpi/commentaires/comm_lv1_tt2.htm#com122-6 (explanation of the legal text in "everyday's" words). In particular, the chapter "acts authorized to the user" explains that: "the recognized right to the software user to proceed to its decompiling is the main evolution of the law (with restrictions...)". It explains that that decompiling HAVE TO BE "necessary to obtain the informations necessary to the interworking of a computer software independantly made with other softwares", with the objective of allowing such decompiling to "allow the interworking of all elements of a computer system, included those of different manufacturers, so that they can work together."
Etc, etc.
Anyway, as you can see, I have the right to deassemble/decompile the software I legally acquire... with restrictions, so, of course, for that to be completely legal, I need to understand what "is necessary to obtain the informations necessary to the interworking of a computer software independantly made with other softwares" really means, but... I was gonna make a new topic for this but since there is already something related to it…
Does anyone have the mp3 of the Brave Soul song (opening?) from the demo movie? or at least the name so i can look for it…this is a very catchy song, i suggest you heard it if you havent.
I’m not sure that is legally allowed Choujin, as the one on the demo movie I believe is a low quality preview version of the song. If you’re happy with the quality of the one on the demo movie though, it’s very easy to convert into an MP3 file or a WAV file, otherwise I think you’ll have to wait for the game’s release.
No, i think you misunderstood me, i mean a oficial legal mp3 version of that song like the one they have for donwload from “Tokimeki check in” in the Download’s Section. I dont know if the song is actually from Brave Soul at all, i’m just guessing its the opening. It would be nice if the game comes with mp3 extra files.
