[size=150][b]I think the Rance series would fit right in with the rest of the titles JAST has released. It’s such an amazing series and it’s such a shame to miss out on. I fell in love with Sengoku Rance right away, but unfortunately there aren’t even fansubs for the sequel Rance Quest. If JAST managed to get ahold of Alicesoft and localize their games to english I think people would definitely buy their titles.

I believe Mangagamer was also declined in 2011, but with their forum wipe I can’t check if they asked or not. Alicesoft started geoblocking the west soon after that.
The majority of the series is fan translated or in the process of it though.
I believe Rance 1/2 remake/3 and 7 (Sengoku) are in English with 4/5/6 currently over 50% translated.
I believe the only parts of the series not translated or in the process of it are 4.1, 4.2, 8 (Quest / Quest Magnum) and the Kichikuou spinoff. They’ll get around to 8 eventually when they finish all the stuff that comes before it.
Someone’s also doing the Toushin Toshi series which is set in the same world. I believe 1 has been translated and 2 is in progress. No one’s working on the Little series (Miki and Kentarou) though.
(That said, if JAST did try again and was able to license Alicesoft titles I’d probably buy them. I’ve enjoyed most of their titles the past few years.)
Thanks for the reply Lipp, I didn’t know that. I wonder why Alicesoft is so against sharing their products with the west. Even their website is Japan only so we can’t even view it.
At least now I know that JAST tried. I’ll just have to wait patiently for Rance Quest to get fanslated eventually, or learn Japanese myself. Though it really would be nice if Alicesoft changed their minds and we were able to get some of their titles in english someday. =/
Alicesoft was likely spooked by the Rapelay incident. Since their games contain high amounts of rape, they may fear a similar outcry involving their games.
That’s a good point, I didn’t think about that. Some retarded American citizen would probably ruin it for everyone. Now I see where they are coming from. Damn that sucks but it’s probably for the best when you think about it.
