Tokimeki Check-in!

Hi.

It seemed that there are no topic concerning the game Tokimeki Check-In solely yet so I decided to start one
This is my top list wanted game from PeaPri, although I pre-ordered all of them
However, it looks like we have to wait a few months before it’s released

I think Tokimeki Check-In! has the most girls compared to other PeaPri games
It even has the 3 SIZES!!! from the download section.
I just adore stories of one guy and lots of girl to choose

Kaiser Fire-san: Although having a lot of girls to choose it certainly a plus, a sort-of-an-rival, isn’t that bad. I gives you a sense of urge, you know. Tokimeki Memorial 2 has Jun and Takumi, and there could be nasty fights towards the end!

Kumiko-san: Do you want to surprise us all and tell PeaPri has an Elf title, or Kanon, or a F&C title???

That’s why I wrote it will be a BIG surprise is you told us so! However, there is always hope it will happen. That, or learn Japanese, jejejeje.

I agree that a large selection of girls does present more variety in the types of paths and encounters you will undertake in the pursuit of each girl. The large number also means that you will encounter, as Jason4 said, a greater variety of personality types. However Tokimeki only has ten different endings. This means that there’s only one ending for each of the girls. Conversely Snow Drop and LMM have a large number of endings but only five girls in each (assuming you have the opportunity to choose either the Mistress or Aya in LMM and I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to).

This doesn’t necessarily make it a bad game, but it does imply that the gameplay for Tokimeki Check-in! is a lot more linear than the play in either Snow Drop and LMM.
However, I plan on purchasing all these games at one point or another so I guess I’m just offering my view on how the number of ladies compared to the number of endings in a game can hint on how linear or non-linear the story will be. Frankly, I don’t mind a game that’s strictly linear if the story is well told.

So bring them all on. I enjoy a good story almost as much as I enjoy the sight of these beautiful girls.

I agree with Kumiko in that we need to support the bishoujo genre by telling suppliers, BBSes, and mainstream companies that we’d like to see more of these games in English. I know one game I would like to see is To Heart. So support the genre and perhaps in a few years we’ll see the games we’d all like to see in English.

Oh WOW 17 endings!?
sugoiiii
I can’t wait until I get my hand on the game.

With 17 endings there will be a lot of replay.
Some one is going to provide a walkthrough.

I must say that instead of a walk-through I’d rather have a hint guide. Maybe like they did with “The Longest Journey” where it gives you increasingly more detailed hints.

That way if you just want an idea of what to do to get an ending, you can get a small amount of general data. And, if you’re just plain stumped, you can get a very detailed answer.

I must say, I really like how TLJ did it. There were several times where I didn’t want to be told how to do the puzzle; I just needed a slight nudge, or an idea that I might not have considered.

For an example, when I played Gloria, I didn’t want a walk through. And Gloria has a ton of endings. All I wanted were just some ideas, and that’s what I received. From things like “just play like a total jerk”, to “you have to try to not act very serious”. They gave me directions, but didn’t tell me the answer.

Anyway, just my 2 cents.
Mike

An interesting side-note about human psychology. Humans seem to find large eyes adorable. The funny thing is, if you think about it, what kind of animals have big eyes: predators. So, humans find cute and cuddly animals that would just as soon rip out our throats: dogs, big cats, raptors, bears.... In other words,

BIG EYES=DANGER

Actually, not so. The elephant has big eyes, but it is not a predator. You must look, rather, to the eye placement.

1) Those with both eyes at the front is called binocular vision. Most, if not all of them, are predators, as they need both eyes to calculate the distance of the prey. (So, the animals you mentioned above, all have binocular vision, hence, predators!)

2) Those that have each eye (slightly off) the side, giving them a wider area of vision to "watch" on any incoming natural enemy. It is called peripheral vision (?), and almost all non-predators have them. A horse, for instance, or a parrot, have peripheral vision.

Also, take in mind that, for oriental people, the eyes are the windows to the soul, so, if an anime character is drawn intentionally with small eyes, it usually means they have something to hide, or inheritely (sp?) evil. The first example I can come up with is Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z), compared to Son Goku. This does not apply to characters drawn with slatted eyes, like Brock of Pocket Monster, nor to characters like Kerberos of Card Captor Sakura ("your eyes looks like two dots!", Sakura).

*cough, cough* Now, back to the topic... ^_^;

Come to think about it, if one of the cons is in San Diego, there is no guarantee Kumiko-san will miss it, as it is not that far. In fact, she might be there and nobody will even notice she was there! (unless you are specifically looking for a Japanese girl)

Nobody-san, you know, all topics lately had begun to show “interesting” post that has nothing to do with the original subject… Who said bishoujo can’t be educational?

As for who is most atune with nature, I will agree with Nobody-san, and that’s Mai. Everybody else looks like modern day “average” people, doing “normal” things. It also helps that, in the slide show, the birds feels safe at her side.

To Nobody-san’s question: Who is the most attractive? I will go for either Mai, Kyoka or Nanami. Again, I might change my mind after playing the game. As for the second question, who would be goofing around, I guess Kumicough may be goofing around, as well as Kyoka (for the same reason as Nobody-san stated) and Yuki (she seems to like to show off, not overshadowed by the con surrounding her)

(sorry guys… but i put this now cuzz i’d some problems with the BBS this afternoon )
probably Kumi-chan will go to the con… but… no one will found a pastel-pink hair colored little japanese girl wandering around…
she might be there as a normal girl but no one will notice her unless she says “hi guys, i’m Kumi-chan” (or something like that)
–but… if Kumi-chan is telling the truth and she really won’t go to the con… why she told us that she want to see us there to say “hi!”??

My favorite character is Ayumi, I can’t really tell you why, she just appeals to me the most.

I just want to point out my favorite character in T. Check-in is Nanami followed by Kumi.

HO HO HO so many endings, I can’t wait to get my hands on it
By the way, Kumiko mention Ume-san which has only a bad ending!?
Who is Ume? Did not see anyone with that name on the opening d/l of Tokimeki Check In

nyah nyah nyah…
i’m more interested in that ending that Kumi-chan didn’t post…

(geez! why i’ve so much problems posting here??)

My opinion is solely on looks.(Seeing that I don’t have the game yet).

Kumiko
I can not help but notice that all the girls who come in groups have only best endings, while the girls who come alone or are there already have both a happy and best ending. I wonder what the ending is like for Keiko-chan & Misato-sama as that it includes both of them together. Well I will just have to get the game and see. BTW what is the currant release date on Tokimeki Check-in! I have vacation in August and I need a good game to play. Thank you

Silly me. Just notice that yiu said that it was due in July in your post from June 11th.

Kumiko; I see on the Right Stuf website that the release date for Tokimeki Check-in! is said to be 7-15. To paraphrase H. Simpson " But I want it now" I needed a good game for the summer I have high hopes that this is it.
COPIED FROM TRSI:
Tokimeki Check-in Pushed Back
Just a small note, the Bishoujo Game Tokimeki Check-in! (an ADULT game if you didn’t now otherwise), has had its release date pushed back a couple of weeks to 7/15.

I CAN’T WAIT
I CAN’T WAIT
I CAN’T WAIT
I CAN’T WAIT

geez boy…
if Kumiko says “before the San Diego Con” it must be after the Con right??
BTW Kumiko…how is Tokimeki going? will you add a “official book manual”?? and what’s about that “surprise” you announced in the update??.. and what about WC??
