Sometimes. And my imagination sometimes takes really weird turns. I'm also not a very visual person but my brain does come up with composites every so often and they're just a tad on the, er, strange side at times. I've been living in this head for years and I still don't understand some of the stuff the shows up.

Well, I suppose that now and then, we can't just understand why we think and act as we do even through we know ourselves from head to toe

I understand perfectly that they might not want to release the information...but I mean, the worst that could happen is they could say no.

Well, to be honest, I never understood why Kumiko would want to release sales numbers to the public, and that's really confidential company data...so I guess that's one of the many things Kumiko and Dave E did that pissed myself and other peapri staff off.

Anyhow, this is from Peter:
X-Change is ahead, but Tokimeki Check in is always a consistent 2nd -- but these days, Tokimeki is #1. So the statement is accurate..

That's all I can say.
However, I will try to have the staff have some kinda TOP 5 (or whatever number) in upcoming updates. While I think it's a nice idea showing a *relative* scale on rankings, exposing actual sales figures data in my opinion is on the unacceptable side, and I have no idea why Kumiko did it.

Hmm, have you ever visited the klozz guy's homepage? There, he apparently thinks that those who translate, remakes and sells adult bishoujo games are rolling in money and practically sells ten thousands of game copies each month or something like that (and he also apprently believes that everyone who does that are people who are worse than even old Ebenezer Scrooge for refusing to share a little with "The great society of freedom", as he calls it). He tells other people that and uses that as his excuse for pirating adult bishoujo games, and there are those who believes what he's telling... By letting out how much Peach Princess really is selling, that could be used as a counter to that. Of course, most people still wouldn't believe it, but it might at least make some of them think twice about how things really is.

That might have been why Kumiko wanted to let people know Peach Princess's true sales...

"Still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest."

It’s very difficult to convince people like that on the basis of just a say-so, because they don’t want to believe you. That would mean that they’d been doing a very bad thing, and it is easier for them to believe you are lying than admit they were wrong.

And besides, publicity is a double-edged sword and you can never quite tell which edge will wind up cutting where. Keeping in mind who comes here, releasing sales figures will only deter people who come, read the boards enough to see the posts, and haven’t already committed themselves to a decision. The regulars here are already convinced, and so are the pirates. And the other effects of posting sales figures are totally unpredictable.

Someone who is somebody could see the sales figures and decide against stocking Pea Pri products on that basis, either for not enough volume or for the act of posting sales figures.

Conversely, someone who is someone, and a fan, could see the sales figures, decide Pea Pri needs help, and come to the rescue. (This is less likely.)

Neither one of these outcomes is controllable. Nor are they predictable. That’s not usually a good thing.

I alreday know that people believe what they want to believe . I also know that it’s much harder for someone to say “Ok, I was wrong”, rather than say that “OK, you were right, sorry for everything”…

And I also know that releasing sale number to try and convince people would be to take a risk, but as they say “business is war, and soemtimes you must take risks”. Kumiko might have wanted to try to take that risk, but who can say? Only she knows…

Peach Princess would need an Akogi in the staff, by the way

What I don’t understand is, none of the staff at peapri knew about the fact that Kumiko is releasing sales info until I asked Peter about it yesterday. Anyhow, I don’t think Kumiko released it to counter what Klozz said; a company should not get so uptight with only what one person (pirate) said, well at least not serious enough to release sales figures. While I can understand Kumiko doing so to show that the company is struggling, but from a business standpoint I still don’t think it’s a good idea to reveal any of that.

Anyhow…if we are actually making that much money and selling 5-digit amounts of copies then our games will come out sooner (but apparently this is not the case of course). Peapri is still a very very small company; buying peapri stocks? I don’t even know if anybody’s interested…is anybody here interested? :stuck_out_tongue:

and I am not sure what you mean by having a akogi in the staff, SB

It would depend on the price of the stock, if there were a cap on the number of shares, stuff like that. (And despite the odds, I'm actually serious for once.)

I could always use some of their stock in my portfolio. What would be the price per share and quantity of shares available.

I’d be interested, if you were actually offering any for sale.

Lamuness-san, AFAIK, Kumiko-chan never did give actual sales figures; only which game were most sold, last sold, etc.

Damn your evil plans!

Now you know why I didn’t want to be reminded of that show. It’s hideous.

I was at Acen one year, and I saw, like, the only funny bit in the entire show [edit: while it was being displayed on a vendor’s VCR hookup]. So, much later, I rented it from Rentertainment (vid rental place down where I used to go to college that stocks lots of subbed VHS) and watched it.

shudders

shudders some more

I’ve seen some things that were worse. But not many.

Aren't you glad you asked? This is why I tell people not to ask if they don't want to know.

tokimeki check-in is the best bishoujo game i’ve played so far
