This thread is dedicated to the voices behind the characters.
Use this to discuss your favorite bishoujo games or anime voice actors, share information etc.
Notable Roles: (games)
Harimao in “D.C.???”
Lisianthus in “SHUFFLE?”
Minatsu Amakase in “D.C.???”
Sayoru Sakagami in “Princess Party”
Sumire Asou in “ef - the latter tale”
Chunhua/Takayashiki Haruka in Kazoku Keikaku
Miyu Shizuhara in “Crescendo”
Her voice is probably one of the most recognizable, and quite funny at times.
It really depends why they’re well known. The seiyuu for the wolf-police-girl in Let’s Meow Meow, for instance, has a very distinctive voice - I’m know I’ve heard her in other h-games, and I’m pretty sure she’s the second-in-command from Gundam Seed. People like Vincent Price or Peter Lorre who have such distinctive voices are going to be more or less instantly recognizable no matter what they do.
I barely know any Japanese VAs and I never really wanted to find out more about them… Well, to be honest, there were two exceptions:
I loved Yui Kano’s singing voice in DEARDROPS and just had to find out the seiyuu’s name.
The VA who voiced Kohakuren in Kamidori Alchemy Meister. I found out the name and a list of roles (and was VERY surprised by how versatile she is), but by now I’ve forgotten her name already.
A pity Miya Serizono doesn’t seem to be getting any love (though I’ve got quite the soft spot for Miru myself). Let me fix that.
Also like Hokuto Minami and Misumi quite a bit.
One VA I half don’t know the name for but really like is the VA for Mayu Sonohara of MDB and Akane of GSS. I just know the first name’s Ayaka
Kimura Ayaka. She also goes by the name Sawano Mirika for Purple Software games for some reason (and I think she uses another name for Softhouse Seal titles, but I can’t remember what that was.) Yeah, she’s good too.
I like Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, the voice of Major Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell and Wendee Lee, Faye Valentine from Cowboy Be Bop. The list of anime and game credits each of these ladies have is long enough to choke a horse. And I’d like to nominate Jessica Cavello for honorable mention for wrecking her voice playing Excel from Excel Saga. But my all-time favorite has to be June Foray:
