Website text colour? (webmaster(s))

Hey,

I happened to notice a small problem with text colour on the product information pages and a few other pages of Peach Princess products. It seems that they use the default Windows colour scheme font rather than having one specified in the page, meaning that if a person chooses white text on blackground backgrounds as part of the Windows colour scheme, you get the white text on a very light blue background making reading difficult. I took a screenshot of it if you’re unsure what I mean:

Some of this page turned out not to be readable at all. I wasn’t sure where I should have posted things relating to the website, so sorry if I should not have posted this here.

Well, actually you just email webmaster@peachprincess.com with such things.

Oops, sorry

I will do that now.

Thanks

Man…people actually have the time to customize the windows color scheme…

after viewing the source code of the product pages, I “think” I have found the source of the problem, and I think I do have a fool-proof solution to it that shouldn’t take the webmaster too much time to fix the problem. I will email the webmaster about the solution.

I am using Internet Explorer 5.0

It’s hasn’t been fixed yet, it only effects users who have, like me, changed their Windows colour schemes, since the pages use the default Windows font colour rather than a specified font colour. So for example, if you right click your desktop, then go “Propertes” → “Appearance” → “Window” (from the “Item” drop down list) and select the font colour to be red, the text on most of PP’s pages appear in red. I have mine set on white (with black item colour) giving me white text on black background, but when pages specify the font or background (not both or none), it causes problems for people who like to customise their Windows appearance. Fortunetly, I have found the option to give Internet Explorer it’s own default text and background colours, but the page should really work for all users, not just those who are happy with a the default Windows colours.

All that would be needed is to add the following somewhere into the “body” tag of the HTML for each of the pages where the problem occurs:

text="#000000"

That would fix it for users with any Windows colour scheme.
