I’d imagine that your average Sci-fi game would just have a more complex/less straightforward story in general, making it hard to understand when you’re already forced to guess half the meaning from context anyway.
But if the amount of words you can understand is higher, then you’ll catch more of what is going on anyway. Besides, Sci-fi is often more straightforward than the broad spectrum of complex emotional states people go through in a typical romance game.
I’ve always found Studio e-go games to be somewhat easier to understand because they like using English in katakana more than usual, and the stories are sometimes rather starightforward. Of course, I still catch only a little of what’s going on.

Currently playing Otome ha Boku ni Koishiteru. It’s a “boy forced to go to school as a girl” plot with a Marimite spin on it. The main character’s grandfather had died and the will tells him to attend an all-girls Catholic school set up by their ancestor. The boy who already looks like a girl to begin with fits naturally in with the help of his osananajimi who attends the same school (and relishes helping him cross-dress ). It’s very cute to see the main character’s consternation as he finds himself fitting a little too naturally into his role (he becomes the “Elder Sister”, a role model student of the school) and seeing how other girls interact with him without knowing his secret. The game is set into an episodic format as well with next episode previews set between each episode.

At this point I don’t play any games because all of the game I have was already finished… Well I’m waiting for the New game to show up. I just order game from Kaguya. Here is the soft I had in preordrer… Here Title is called “Magical Witch Academy” odd…I’m the Kaguya fun lol

Yesterday i just finished Crescendo. I loved very much. It was a great experience because i never saw such emotional bgame since Kana. D.O. is really the best in making story-focused games.
Now installing Little My Maid. I was really anticipating this one because it seems to be so good or maybe even better than Snow Drop… one of my most favorite bgames.
I last played through Little My Maid and Idols Galore. LMM was a lot darker then I expected. Bit of a shock to me. Don’t know why I expected the basic light, consential romance ADV, but I did.
Idols Galore was ok. It didn’t need to include an H scene with all girls on all paths. But hey, if they hadn’t, it would just be a unexpected love ADV, wouldn’t it? A butthead doing a mean job finding love along the way… who would buy that?
And at the moment, I’m finishing up Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. No hentai for those of you not already in the know. However, it does have plenty of B-gals to look at while enjoying a nice RPG.

I'm not sure where I saw it (probably the LMMD pre-order description at the PP store), but the description I read said something to the effect of "for good or for ill, how you treat the maids is up to you." Since I finally got my Japanese PS2 in the mail on Monday, I started playing through To Heart 2.
It’s fun so far, and the kanji level is really close to mine so I actually understand most of it without trying too hard.

Of course, certain people (you know who you are) make fun of me for playing “a H-game without the H,” but to them I say bah. I actually don’t play these for the sex. ^_^;;
I was playing Soul Link, but since a choice I made very late in Shuuhei’s story gets me kiled no matter what I do, I’m giving it a break.

playing to heart 2 as well…but at school via my laptop (dont have the ps2 with me at school and i dont go home that often), and a few ppl have been making fun of me with watching porn…
finished 2 good endings as of last night, one was rather weak IMHO and the other is quite interesting but at the expense of a reeeeeeeeeeeeeally long story and i was stuck at school for at least 6 hrs (with no dinner) just to finish going though it
