What sparked your first interest in Bishoujo gaming?

I am into anime and manga, had been playing Japanese RPG on the Sega systems and on Playstation, when I got my computer and started looking for differant type of games to play. Picked up some adult games and software(Hentai Strip Poker, Nocturnal Illusion, and Amine Pin-up Beauties) on TRSI and then I saw this new company and it website, Peach Princess. That was when I really started on bishojo.

Back in June I attended A-kon, my first anime convintion, with a friend. Among the many booths in the dealers room there was one that was selling various bishoujo games, I’m not certain but it may have been Jast USA or PeaPri. Out of curiosity I picked up one titled Season of the Sakura Ive been hooked ever since.

For me, it was the review of SNOW DROP on JMate. I’m glad I added TOKIMEKI CHECK-IN! to that order on a whim!

I was become member RIT Anime Club by 1993 as first time deaf student joined RIT Anime Club. “Sailor Moon” fan did showed bishoujo games for SNES as he showed Sailor Moon fighting game. I enjoyed to play any anime fighting games. Then I didn’t realized other more Bishoujo games (date simulation, RPG, adventure) until SAC (Shoujo Anime Club) offered me to invite for become member by 1995 or 1996 (I cant remember so much). I read debate about anime games from SAC mailing. I ordered Wedding Peach fansub tapes. I did realized PSX’s Wedding Peach from Wedding Peach fansub. I did asked SAC about bishoujo games. Then I kept looking for different bishoujo games. I got first bishoujo RPG game is SNES’s Sailor Moon Another Story. My first PC bishoujo game is Ring Out. I kept learn anime mailing from any websites. Well… I dont have PSX’s Wedding Peach yet (it is one of hard to find games).

I am never giving up to look more bishoujo and any anime games for any game systems.

Curiosity .

I saw a site about Three Sisters Story about 5 years ago and was suprised to see such kinds of games existed. I didn’t have an international credit card back then so I couldn’t order anything online. Some time later, I took a vacation in the US and stumbled into an anime shop that had Jast USA titles… the rest, as they say, is history. Nocturnal Illusion is the first bishoujo game I played.

The Wedding Peach PSX game you're talking about is "DokiDoki Oironaoshi!" Yes, it's a VERY good game! Really fun, and a must-have for any Wedding Peach fan! Also, REALLY hard to find, even in Japan, as you mentioned.

I mean I got Wedding Peach Fansubs from Technogirls as master quality under SAC.

yes about PSX's Wedding Peach. I still looking for it at Ebay. Now, also I look for Gameboy's Wedding Peach. I have SNES's Wedding Peach as it took me for almost 3 years waiting at Ebay.

Hmm. I can’t quite remember it, but I know that I somehow got my hands on an entire slew of SILKY’s games (Nonomura Byouin no Hitobito, Mobius Roid, etc.) five or six years ago, and that pretty much was it. About two months later I borrowed a friend’s copy of Graduation and ruined my grades for the semester. And then I suddenly found myself in the world of bishoujo gaming, chasing after titles, hunting for new releases, etc.

I was introduced to Gainax’s Princess Maker 2 english beta a few years ago by a friend, and it got me hooked on anime style games. I was fascinated by the fact that you could control this little girl’s life. It was such a new type of game for me. I had been a big fan of RPG’s anime-style for a few years already, and loved the artwork of anime. So after I was addicted to Princess Maker 2, I started looking for other anime-style games on the net. A few seardhes on Yahoo and such found me Animenation, a couple of hentai sites and the Jast USA site as well. From there is history. I was hooked. My very first hentai game was The Maid’s Story, bought from Animenation when I checked out their hentai section.

Hmmm seriously i don’t remember how i got started… but i do remember three things and i hope you don’t mind if i be blunt.

1. I was young and finnaly got the internet.
2. I was horny and started searching for stuff…
3. The first hentai game i played was Love Potion, which i bought from Himeya.

Simply put, anime as a whole assists me to seperate myself from reality, albeit momentarily. I guess I never did get rid of my fondness with Japanese animation developed since I was an adolescent.

When I interact with a bishojo work, I can totally enjoy the entertainment value as it is. I don’t have to automatically come up with ideas like premises, inferences, assumptions, vaildities, main points, etc. Beside, the implausibility of those bishojos’ big eyes, salient complexion, and outlandish hairstyle render any sort of critical analysis (on my part) inane at best, futile at worst. On the other side of the coin, I do perfer some sort of rationalities over mindless actions. As a result, I got attract especially to dramas such as Snow Drop and a relative unknow anime series called Legends of Galactic Heroes.

Let’s see… I was an anime & manga fan since years, but as I didn’t have any console nor computer, I never was interested into anime games. Then, in '93, I bought my 1st computer. Those days, my main source for anime info. and computer stuff (pictures ) was the Internet, but alas, back then, my connection was slow (well, 14.4 modem ) and expensive… In '94, I gained “massive” d/l speed (thanks to my school ) and stumbled on my first anime game… which was a bishoujo game: “Lakers”.

This is sorta… embarassing but I don’t remember how I got hooked. #^^# (Starts cursing at shoddy memory)
But then, the important thing is that I’m addicted to bishoujo gaming now, no? ^_-

Youth and curiosity are the main reason for that (not that being 20 right now is not young ^^)…I was an otaku-in-training, who have limited knowledge of the internet, during that time, and I was searching for info about anime…Then, with my cheap 33k modem (now, I can’t live w/o my DSL), I stumbled upon a community…U know what kind of site and community …On that site, there is no pics…but a lot of games…the biggest at that time(I do not know that before ^^)…

I would not have been hooked by those games (especially when you consider my values in the past) if it were not for my first experience, Season of the Sakura…I do not even know what kind of game it is but I know I was hooked by the story and the interaction. Then, after receiving my first scenes, I did not sleep for 2 days…trying to get all the endings and the pics…I also remember telling my Mother not to bother me while I do my project ^^ Afterwards, the I that I know is no longer…I started to crave those games…( Also, I do not even know who is Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langley, I only know who is Ruri and Aki )…

Then, fortunately, after some years of doing things, my roommate, before he left me, had introduced me to Peapri and Kumiko who started informing me about the evils of my act with her tedious text…I still think that the only reason why I detached myself to the community and my old ways is because of Kumiko’s texts…not her messages

Natural evolution from Anime (Caught the original airing of Star Blazers in the late 70’s), to manga (I have the original Viz color Issues of Ranma 1/2), which naturally evolved to bishojo gaming. (Bought 3 Sisters’ Story) from Right Stuf lo’ these many years ago)

Started off with anime a long time ago. (It’s always been pretty big in Hawaii.) Then moved up to the slightly naughtier forms of anime in High School. (With a long lecture when we were caught viewing one in the SA room.) Reduced to a casual anime viewer in college (It didn’t really pick up at Purdue till my senior year or so.) Then picked up an image CD off of Ebay which included some games. Of course, they were all in Japanese and my translation skills being what they are, I lost interest because I wanted to understand the story behind the images. (Okay, I still play Lakers EX every so often, I just wish I knew what exactly I was doing.) Then joy of joys, I found English translated games! Unfortunately, they were illegal copies. (And before Kumiko or anyone scolds me, I’ve been replacing them with legitimate copies as much as possible. I hate having a guilt complex.) Nowadays, I just sit around, eagerly awaiting the next new game release from Peach Princess and trying to convince my friends to join in. (oh and picking up other older game I didn’t have here and there. Much happy I found Jlist and they have a good variety of games.)
