Edit: CNN tells a very different story. No mention of removing the Costa Rican flag, and the territory is described as being in dispute.

Oh my god. I can’t decide whether it’s a epically inspired troll (successful enough to sell a bunch of copies, since its rank on the store apparently shot up) or the work of a truly deranged mind.
It’s not a troll. I presume it’s the same guy mentioned here, and from the text samples here he seems to be serious. Not sure why amazon are selling it, as although it’s probably still protected under free speech laws, the negative publicity they’re getting from it is going to far outweigh any profit they’ll make from sales.
Interesting. Has David Riegel ever been convicted of pedophelia? Of course just because someone supports something, doesn’t mean they’ve actually done it (I have yet to shag yandere twins )… but the way that wiki entry presents stuff, it’s like there’s a “hit” out on him (i.e. witch hunt to get him in prison). Kinda curious if he’s a past offender or not.
Unless David Riegel is using an alias, I doubt it’s the same guy. This guy calls himself Phillip R Greaves 2nd, and he’s written a few other things. The spelling and grammar is equally terrible in the blurbs for his other stuff, one of which appears to be some kind of anti-religious rant. I would say that’s two hot-button topics, so he’s probably a troll … except that the antireligious book seems to have garnered like two reviews.
Note that the specific book in question is still listed, but doesn’t lead to a working page anymore; Amazon blanked it out poorly, so the actual page returns an error, but other pages referring to that page still work.
But those text samples … those are something else. (In fact, the purported authorship probably IS a fake name. I wouldn’t want my REAL name attached to anything like that.)

Pure win. I’d seen a book which apparently is the autobiography of the guy who was the target of this harassment. It featured the blurb about the chicken on the back cover, so I bought it and added it to my pile of books to read. I think I might have to move it up towards the front of the line.
