I saw this on the local news earlier, and I’m in complete agreement Narg. Like you, I can’t help but wonder if a classic piece of 20th century literature is illegal in Florida now. I have no idea of the actual wording of the law that they used, but as Sheriff Judd said in the press conference:

It keeps increasing because spammers tell each other where unattended boards are that they can clog with spam. They don’t expect anyone to read it except Google.
Someone noticed probably around Jan-March of last year that they could spam your board, and then they started telling all their spammy little friends.

Obviously this guy Chris shouldn’t have been hiding beer in his room if he is underage. However, this is one hell of an epic example of online revenge. His sister Katie made two major mistakes. The first, obviously, is writing up that list in the first place. The second is that she actually commented on the picture in a way that confirms she definitely made that list. If she had just kept her mouth shut, she could have used plausible deniability since nobody is going to bring in a handwriting expert to show she actually made that list.
The guy took a plea deal today. Probation and he doesn’t have to register as a sex offender. As much as the charges offend my idea of what the First Amendment means, I have to say that I probably would taken that deal, if I were in a similar position.
One of these days, someone is gonna get charged with one these unjust obscenity cases, and fight it to the end. I was hoping this guy would be one of them - seeing how he had the balls to write and publish the book in the first place - but it appears he had no money at all… so there’s no way he could have afforded such a legal battle. God damn goverment has unlimited funds, knows it, and will force the other party to run out of it so they give up… fucking unfair. Where’s Larry Flint and Hugh Hefner when you need them? :evil:
Those with money have the best chance to win a serious lawsuit. What a legal system joke. Sad but true.
Thing is, with this guy, I’m not so sure it’s that he had the balls to write the book, as much as he honestly didn’t see the problem with it and so he was taken by surprise at the reaction he received. The guy didn’t exactly seem like the most stable person.
While I may approve of the nurses, though I for some reason question their medical training, how the hell do you even EAT something like that? Do you have to dislocate your jaw just to fit it into your mouth or what?
I can’t tell if this was a serious explanation/defense or some cruel joke. The level of fallacy and hypocrisy makes me cry.

sigh I wonder how many people actually believe this stuff. You would think those that do believe would learn from The Great Disappointment. Then again, I’m not sure that many of these people know enough about the history of christianity (or even history in general) to know about that. My knowing so much about the history of christianity and other Abrahamic religions is one of the reasons that I am not one like when I was a child.
