Mmmmmh... more of a reason the leave her in a museum... but, also, we have to think that we are on the 21th century, plastic surgery is very common and i supose hat the one who made hers is a really good surgeon...

i think i dont grab your idea of ‘sad’…
if she is like that in a natural way, the surgery is always an option… if she did that to herself with a surgery, then that was her choice and i dont see why its a sad thing…
