your guesses for ax 2104

what are your top guess for this years ax roster
the most realistic and wish list

Maybe a Nitro+ title and if we’re really lucky the Yumina FD

Eiyuu Senki ( http://vndb.org/t5300#25 )
DRAMAtical Murder ( Because of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GlN_oxV4oI )
Yumina FD

Probably not much more. They already have 12 titles scheduled.

edit:

Oh wait…AX 2104 not 2014 :stuck_out_tongue:
…Mangagamer will be licensing like…Da Capo 16 at that point.

And by coincidence the Softhouse Seal library will reach the exact number of that year

i am hoping for 18+ otome game

And Jast will announce that Sumanga will be shipping any time now :stuck_out_tongue:

More seriously, Jast has released 3 titles since the beginning of 2013 (Saya, Yumina, and Steins;Gate) and with 12 more titles in the pipeline they really don’t have a short term reason to pick up more titles. The titles Lipp posted make sense, and it seems hard to believe they would pick up much more than that unless some big Japanese company specifically approached Jast. Although as it seems 5pb is happy with the results of Steins;Gate, that likely could help jump start any future negotiations with a decent number of sizable companies.

the always add at least a FEW new titles at ax i think they will add something

Realistically: Chaos;Head, another Nitro+, and Yumina FD.

If anything like 11 Eyes, Chaos;Head, or Utawarerumono got announced. That would make this one of of the best years in gaming.

Which is one of the reasons they have such a ridiculous backlog. They add games faster than they can release them. I really hope their release of Steins;Gate actually in line with their projected release date is the start of a trend; they really need to pick up the pace. It feels like Mangagamer releases a decade’s worth of Jast USA’s output in a year.

I’d be pretty happy if JAST could simply release all the titles they’ve already announced in the next two years. There’s several titles in there I’m interested in. I’m still sad that Overflow isn’t making games anymore, and I’m sure JAST is too. Their games had broader appeal than the typical VN.

Yeah me too. would be nice if they released the games they have in their pipeline first.

As long as they announce more release dates and actually hit them, I’m okay with them also announcing new stuff. But realistically, they need to release games at a rate faster than they announce them for awhile. Even if they get it up to be about the same number of releases as announcements, that would still mean any given title will take years to get to the front of the line at this point.

Announcements at AX? Yeah, how about an announcement that some of the games that are already announced will be released at some point.

when they update their status tread it hasn’t been upodated in awhile

I know the company releases several porn-without-plot titles each year. I haven’t purchased them. However, I have heard people from Mangagamer talk at conventions, and on Eroge Bus Podcast, about how financially successful some of their porn-centered titles are.

Visual novel fandom has been growing since I joined this forum, but I’m not sure how JAST is keeping up. I’m hoping to hear mostly about updates during AX 2014, and maybe a re-release of a product that’s currently out of print. I am looking forward to JAST’s release of Little Witch Romanesque, but I expect that it will be at least two years before it’s finished and released. I’m just hoping it gets done in my lifetime.

I recall that the company has been working with other translation teams on recent projects. Dakkodango Translations got at least some credit for Aselia the Eternal, Sekai Project helped with School Days, and TLWiki contributed on at least a few releases. Is this slowing the process down? Does it make sure projects get released with minimal bugs, typos, and inconsistencies?

Where is the market for visual novels in English going? I’m not sure. Digital distribution services? iOS and Android? Handheld consoles?

Anyone streaming the VN panels this year? Looks like the Mangagamer and JAST USA panels are happening at the same time.

Found some info on potential streams:

http://www.fandompost.com/oldforums/sho … p-Schedule

Bayoab covered both industry VN panels last year. I’m guessing one or both panels will be covered by stream or live feed.
