i don’t know how i feel about most of these titles

Taiyou no Ko.

I wish they’d get XCA2.

Apparently they have 7 new titles to announce: http://jastusa.com/blog/2013/06/28/jast … expo-2013/

Based on the twitter hints + my own hopes:
Steins;Gate (Been hinted at far too much over on twitter + by the team involved)
Chaos;Head (I could see JAST grabbing it considering Steins;Gate)
My Girlfriend is the President Fandisk (Been referenced on twitter more then once as a possibility)
Shiny Summer Days (Been referenced on twitter more then once as a possibility but Kokoro…)

The last part (in bold) makes me think we’re getting something we don’t normally get. I remember they were after the Starry Sky series but the voices were holding things up. Perhaps they licensed a different otome game/series?
It could also reference Cross Days. Instead of Shiny Summer Days they could have gotten Cross Days instead perhaps?
The remainder is probably other Nitro+ titles (Isn’t Sumaga the only nitro+ title still in translation now?) or nukige.

Steins;Gate mostly.

sakura no uta

Reichou Ryuuri Occultum

BELIEVE~

Makki, Shoujobyou

Omakase! Trouble Tenshi

Orochi_love deleted his Twitter account. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN :((((

Also,

I don’t know this one and google hasn’t been of help.

Huh, I guess he renamed it. Alright. I wasn’t following him unfortunately. I will now =P

This game might actually be revived under Minatosoft… since apparently it’s been written for ages, just looking for a company to polish it up and release it.

I just hope one of their new acquisitions is more staff. It becomes hard to keep believing they have nothing to do with these huge delays eventually.

Considering JAST’s habit of snapping up fanlation projects, then maybe this:

http://vndb.org/v646

I’m looking forward to Shiny Summer Days. And whatever Nitro+ titles they have in the pipeline.

The 1-2 decent releases each year wears on the patience though. Especially considering they’re often hijacked fan projects. While JAST has been licensing good titles lately, their actual contribution to the pool of good translated titles leaves much to be desired.

School Days HQ: JAST USA added value with the HQ version.
Yumina: When this releases, this will be a title that wouldn’t have been translated at all if it wasn’t for JAST.

I want to see more acquisitions like these.

I think turning translations legit and giving them a real release instead of a 99%-pirated one is an ‘actual contribution’. The more companies are engaged with the English market, the better. (Unless that company decides to hack their games to bits.)

I’d like to see JAST acquire more fan translations, personally, so they can sell games in boxes that people can just install and play in English. Especially titles I am particularly fond of, like Cross Channel, ONE, Sharin no Kuni, Quartett! and others; so I can easily recommend these to non-technical people (as well as buy them as gifts, etc.)

Of course, this is mostly under the assumption that working from a fan translation allows work to proceed faster, which sometimes seems to be the case and other times doesn’t seem to be the case. So basically I agree with Nandemonai’s original suggestion - I would like JAST to fix their processes so they get more done faster, whatever the bottleneck here is.

I don’t begrudge their fan project acquisitions, but if they’re only going to release 1-2 titles a year, and that’s ALL they release…

I’ll edit anything interesting from the Mangagamer panel (happening now) into this post, to make it easier for people who don’t want to go over the entire thing.

First new company + licenses:

Second new company + licenses:

Third company + licenses:

KNS lol:

Cartagra fan tl info:

Fourth new company + licenses:

Voices + new hardcopy for a certain game:

Looks like they licensed DC3:

Apparently BL and otome gamers don’t exist:

Hmanga and Hova’s:

I’ve played this and… no, I wouldn’t say it’s much deeper at all. In terms of human drama something like A??? (Softhouse Seal) is much better than furifure.

Funnily enough this happened later on:

Yumeiro Kusuri I believe is a misspelling of Yume Miru Kusuri.

Or it’s an awesome new original eroge from MangaGamer that combines the events from Yume Miru Kusuri with those of Yumeiro Alouette.
