Bave Soul is the best h-game I played so far!

Just wanted to say that I think that Brave Soul is the best h-game out there. It’s even better than Tokimeki Check In, Casual Romance Club and Nocturnal Illusions. It’s like those old Action-Adventure games I loved to play in the past. It’s much fun, the girls are really very hot and the story is great as well!

^^ I wouldn’t say Brave Soul is the “BEST” Bishoujo Game out there but I certainly like it a lot. Oh…another thing, I don’t mean to be rude or anything but Please…Please…Please don’t use the term H-Games to call our beloved Bishoujo Games. As I believe H-Game is the abbreviation of Hentai Games… Yeah… I know many people think well…Hentai games are Bishoujo games; Bishoujo games are Hentai games…what’s the big deal? Well…the word “hentai” is a very very rude word in Japanese culture which I think is unsuitable to use to describe Bishoujo games… ~~

By the way: Who of the “Brave-Soul” girls do you guys think is the hottest? Sorry bout the Hentai thing!

Oh...Don't worry about the Hentai thing as many people also do the same thing ^_^...

As for which girl I think is the hottest??? lol...Well...I would have to say Moon Goddess is my favorite girl in the game...ah...my Moon Goddess... ~_~

I would go for Ruby as cutest girl.

H-games is widely accepted in the English-speaking world. Anime goddess Rowena added this description to the animetrics forum

^_^ Well! I won't argue with that...just like the word, Otaku, is also widely used in English Speaking world...but in Japanese culture, otaku isn't a word that people can use in daily life ...in fact, people will take offensive if someone calls them otaku... ~_~

Add: Wonder how I know it?...well...it's from a very painful personal experience... ~_~

Unfortunately, it happens a lot when words are “borrowed” from another language. (“sushi” being another popular example.) You really need to be careful when you’re speaking to a native language speaker, the words don’t always mean what you think they mean.

J-List has a good glossary here including “H”, “hentai”, and “otaku”. It doesn’t mention the negative connotation of “otaku” but I think Peter may have mentioned it a time or two in his updates.

Yeah you wouldn’t use the word otaku in japan, but in the states it’s fine and some of the people here take it as a compliment.

As for my favorite girl, hmm…donno for right now Alicia seems to be my favorite but I’ve only scratched the surface of this game.

Catgirl Marin! Who else?

If you can get the Japanese to use the word pantsu correctly, then I will scrupulously use only the term bishoujo game. Until then I will use them interchangeably unless I am specifically drawing a distinction AND I know that the person I am talking to, will know what I mean.

I see the point - and I agree with it to a degree. But I place more value on being able to effectively communicate with most people, and most people don't know the difference.

I actually use the word - in the derogatory sense - to refer to myself, because I couldn't deny it if I tried.

I do agree with you to a agree that it's important to be able to effectively communicate with most people...But, I also think it's our duties as an Anime fan or as a Bishoujo game fan to inform the right kinds of information to our fellow fans as no one is perfect, by informing and learning new information everyday, we are able to increase our knowledge ... ^_^

Well, yes. Educating the community as to the fact that a LOT of these games are not hentai in the sense that they're not "perverted" is a very good goal. I take as many opportunities as I can reasonably find to do this. But when I'm talking with people who already know the difference - well, I sometimes even slip up and use the word "hentai", because that's the first word I learned for it (I remember being very confused as to why 'hentai and manga' were used on sites waaaaay back before I even knew what anime was), and sometimes it's just not worth being pedantic. Annoying your friends is usually not a good thing. ^___^

I thoroughly agree with most of your points, Nandemonai. Just one thing: the Japanese call underwear what we Brits know they are, pants... it's Americans who embarrass themselves by calling their trousers pants

Favorite Girl in the game is Clare. I like her the best because you’re basically hooking up with your best friend in the game. She’s also the most loyal, While other characters bail when you take on a mission they don’t agree with, Clare stays with you, even if she voices disagreement.

OK, back to topic!

Favourite: Clare
Most interesting: Caroll
Mos disliked: Karen <–God do I feel like giving her 2 tight slaps… >_<

Btw: In the unopennable door mission, there’s this girl who comes out from a portal, is that the main character from XChange? Can’t really remember the name

Yeah, that's Takuya. I had to laugh at Crowd's shameless plug

My favourite character is Ruby, although Clare is sweet too. Must be an older woman thing going on, as I really like Kaori (the nurse, oh yeah) from Crescendo right now.

I`ll go with Ruby. It doesn`t get much better than a tall, stacked redhead.
