Moar new screen shots!
Could it be, that Azuma-sensei and Hitomi get their own victory route?
I suppose he did it for more money and negotiating control. Case in point: neither Hironobu Sakaguchi, Yoshitaka Amano, or Nobuo Uematsu (the Final Fantasy gods) work as employees at Square-Enix, yet continue to contribute as commissioned hires. They’ve all cited that they get more control when they’re commissioned, than when they’re salaried.
It is VERY UNCOMMON when a non-producer contributor to game development, has actual direction control. Someone with the authority like Shigeru Miyamoto or Hideo Kojima is an extreme exception. That’s why it’s not uncommon for legends like Keiji Inafune (the Mega Man guy) or Michiru Yamane (the Castlevania composer) to go off and leave to create an independent company.
Indeed it’s because of such common departures, that I’m amazed Koji Igarashi has not left Konmai, after being snubbed constantly at Castlevania projects and manhandled during Tokimeki Memorial 4.
