Technically, there’s nothing in Cthulhu that doesn’t let it take place in the mainstream BCyc universe. I’m now of the mind that all BCyc games take place in the same time line, unless the events in them makes it impossible or they branch into an alternate reality: fan disc crossovers being the most obvious.
It’s just some games are more direct in connecting with each other: MDB is directly GSS… Mushi is directly Extra… Gun Katana and the Sayoko-verse reference the Neko Metal band… etc
You know, they missed a golden opportunity here. They could have made it after Ynk3 ,and Sayoko and Kei meetup in Japan, on Chisakura Island
It would have required them to pick an ending and some characters would be absent ,but it could have served as a segway to the Sequel everyone wants .

One question to everyone, how exactly would you say MinDeaD BlooD if you were saying it out loud? I used to say “Men-dead-blood” But Now Ithink its supposed to be Mind-dead-blood and the D in the middle is just shared for style. What do you think?

Inunaki’s themesong is out. Definitely not what I expected, and pretty unique among Black Cyc themesongs too.
Despite the change of seiyuu/‘status’ of certain characters, there are enough references to 1 in 2 to suggest that unless 2 was intended as a rewrite of 1 (which I don’t think it was), they’re in the same universe. I’d have to go back and reread parts of both to confirm, but after I originally cleared both, I remember thinking that 2 could also have taken place before, instead of after 1.
Interesting, although I’m not sure what that indicates about the game’s direction. So far, almost everything about Inukami has given off a very Serina-esque vibe (in a somewhat unfavourable sense, as despite the near 7 year gap between the titles, I think Serina will probably still be better on all the non-scenario aspects), and although Serina never had a OP song as such, Inukami’s would fit quite well.
As for Sayoko, which was released today, early reports on 2ch suggest that the playtime is really really short.
Hmm… OP is a lot different from what I expected. It’s not as good as Denkare - then again what else is - but I don’t find it horrible like the Chulhu expansion OP. Songtress was not forced to sing outside her means. From first glance though, not really impressed with this upcoming game. Judging from the theme song, and the posted CG events, everything is just so… well… [u]TAME[/u]. Is this the new BCyc? God I hope not. BCyc is supposed to be over the top hardcore: not weak sauce.

With the growing interest in “monster girl” themes, I’ve been seeing a slow growing rise in tentacle girl hentai manga here and there. One shot chapter plots… but at least one every two or three months, as opposed to never at all a few years back. 8)

Sheesh… I have no idea how the hell Cyc kept that Rainbow branch open, when it seemed pretty obvious to me, that the damn thing was a waste of time. Hell… even White Cyc is a waste of time IMHO. Black Cyc for dark games and regular Cyc for innovative games with unique gameplay: that’s the only branches they need. Maybe Rose Cyc if they can put together another great otome title. Strong maybe there.
Right now though, they need to focus on getting BCyc back on the right track again. They keep derailing the damn train, with these second and third tier releases. Get it through your thick skulls BCyc: hiring Denkare to do the soundtrack, isn’t enough to make a great game (though it’s a great start).
The market is ripe for a great dark eroge with over-the-top hentai. Everything in this genre has been so “oh-hum boring” or “seen that before” as of late.
What they need is …diversity :twisted: :twisted: .They need to try out new ideas.Preferably something with mind control and maybe netori :? -someone told me this was the opposite of NTR so basically taking women.
They’ve already done/are doing netori/netorare (I’d be very surprised if it’s not in Inunaki), although it’s never the central theme of their eroges, which I personally prefer, as the dedicated titles in this genre really lack variety and originality. Mind control… possibly. The real challenge (and I think there’s room for Black Cyc to do something here) is to make something that isn’t like the 90+% of mind control titles with plots mostly revolving around subjugating women, and something that’s possibly more like the way hypnotism and mind control are used in stories outside of the ero context.
I think what they need to do is get the story of their games right first (even if that means inviting Metawo back to do the planning). If they get that firmly in place, the result should be able to stand up to just about all the gratuitious ero that can be thrown at it.
They ARE trying new ideas. Inunaki is an example of this, as was Cthulhu (just like the great Mugen Kairou series, Black Cyc’s best two eroges, was before it). Cthulhu at least didn’t work due to great weaknesses in many structural areas. In short, what they need is NOT to branch out or try crazy shit. They need to get back to the foundations and get the storytelling right again. Once you’ve got that down, everything else becomes much easier.
Whoa,calm down pal and drink some green tea. I never said that bad story telling was no big deal. If you look at the four most highly regarded Black Cyc titles only one has ordinary VN gameplay. Also,as Narg has pointed out before, there are other companies who surpassed them even at their most brutal. The customer base in Japan my be tired of the same things being done over and over.
Finished playing Sayoko, and I’m quite disappointed. I wasn’t expecting a great game, just an average sexromp with possibly some nice yuri, but the game falls short of even such low expectations. First of all, the game is really short, with just a couple of sex scenes for each character, none of which is particularly well made. Secondarily, there’s practically no yuri, since Sayoko gets herself a cock everytime she has to “work” on a woman.
The only moment I liked the game it’s when Sayoko approaches the otaku character, and instead of getting him into sex, ends up building a model figure with him. Even Sayoko must fear the power of a true otaku 
Apart from this, the game is totally crap, so stay away from it if you can.

Aside from putting up some new HCG, an opening for Inunaki is up for download. Not sure if it’s the actual game opening or not, but I’ll admit it does do a good job in getting you interested in the game.
On a side note, the HCG (and a brief glimpse of what may be a guro CG (around 1:47-48)from the opening) may hint that Black Cyc is at least trying to get back to the hardcore stuff we all knew and loved it for
It’s not the game’s op movie – just a teaser. That being said: it does look like there could be guro or overt violence in this title. The blood splats and knives are promising. Looks like corruption is involved as well. However I’ve lost enough confidence in BCyc, to ensure that I’m NOT preordering it. I’ll wait and see first.
