Whoa. Does that pathetic title take place in the old B-Cyc’verse or are they recycling background resources in an unrelated game?
Either way… fucking so sad how the mighty has fallen damn far. 
If I ever hit the lottery, I’ll buy eroge studios instead of sports teams like some rich people, and that will be my first order of business. I’d do whatever it took to get them back,and kill every cyc branch except Black and White, while hopefully integrating Monochrome Metal Cat as a sub studio as well. The old ultraviolence would make a hell of a comeback.
Realistically though, one thing they could do to increase profits is contract Metawo and company to produce a series of artbooks showcasing Black Cyc girls doing all sorts of things that most likely wouldn’t be put into a game. I’m talking different themes such as naked apron,wedding dresses,and lots of lingerie, and do multiple perspectives with each one.

Banya izumi is doing the scenario for the newest cyclet game and the pictures make it look really dark.I’m sort of confused why they aren’t trying to revive Black Cyc and appear to be dumping all of there energy into this one branch.They were the ones who shit all over Black Cyc in the first place, :roll: :roll:
Cyclet games are “quickies” with only one or two heroines. Black Cyc titles had elaborate gameplay and/or complex plot branches with a cast larger than three. The quickies are easier to mass produce and sell at a lower price. Basically it’s the quantity over quality scheme, and the tactic appears to be economic and working. Basically these simple Cyclet titles are more profitable than the mammoth Black Cyc ventures. So really, it’s not so much Cyc wants to make fast dirty products… it’s just what sells best.
While I tend to shit on Cyclet releases – mostly because I miss the good 'ole days – they’re “decent” for the minimalist amount of investment that goes into them if you’re into guro/shock ero. In fact there’s a rather strong fan base for them. A lot of these buyers are post-BCyc and don’t have the bias we do. Cyclet game content has been getting longer as the years crawl by, so for them it’s noticeable and rewarding improvement. We kinda see it as a mockery. However all in all, releases like Dasaku are a step in the right direction.
Some of the BCyc artists and writers have been doing work for Cyclet off and on… it’s just not all of them on a single project. I would suppose for cost reasons, because Karen (i.e. Fairy Yui) has come a long way since her early days, they can’t afford Denkare anymore. Either that or the issues (or representative) between them haven’t been patched up yet.
What continues to mystify me, is how Cyc STILL lacks an OVA conversion of their works. The Cyclet titles should be prefect for such an attempt, and I’ve seen worst ero titles than theirs get the treatment. Maybe they completely lack someone with connections to that part of the industry?
Long story short, I suppose BCyc could be resurrected… but there just isn’t the money to do it. Cyc is in it for the profit, and they can’t afford the expensive projects anymore.
It’s also upsetting that neither JAST or MangaGamer have been unable to translate their titles. Then again, seeing how there hasn’t been a successful fan translation, perhaps it’s a sign that the Western BCyc fanbase is louder than normal, but not actually that populous. “Illegal” translation attempts for Gore Scream Show and MinDeaD BlooD failed years ago… I even recall there were two tries for GSS.
However… as you said… Ayakami looks rather promising. Perhaps it will be their highest budget project to date. Baby steps are better than no steps at all.
Let’s cross our fingers and hope for the unlikeliest chance it has some New Wave Of Death Neko Metal in it.

On a side note, it’s not just BCyc though. One of the companies that I was hoping would inherit the torch, Turumiku, sorta just sputtered out and lost momentum. Their inability to become something greater was one of the nails that made me drift away from being an ero fanatic. Where I used to play a dozen titles a month… I probably only go through four a year. Kinda sad… I can afford more ero today than I could before, but I just don’t see the mass amount of worthwhile titles anymore. Even the amount of twincest themed material has dwindled away. Guess that fad died out sometime ago.

I remember when Watch Out! was released last year, and there was a hoax that it was to a BCyc game. Alas it was just a mean hoax… but the song certainly would have made a great intro. They still do eroge titles, because Monsters Survive from Lilith featured Inishie no Kaze.

I’d probably work Metawo to burnout.I’d ask him to draw a jungle continent filled with monstergirls-(Ive seen Vanadis and like them,but I want to see his spin on a Lamia and Alraune.)-and things like girls in Keyhole sweaters,wedding dresses,slutty wedding dresses,and sexy lingerie.His artwork is among the best,and the saddest to see go.
