Finally

I second the recommendation for media mail. It seems to work just as fast in California as any other service. Just place your order and forget about it (Zen thing). The real delay comes from items being out of stock. It’s been two weeks without a shipping notice since I ordered some DVDs during the Animeigo sale.

That’s the one problem I have with RightStuf–especially with new items… it seems like they are almost always out of stock or back ordered. I very rarely seem to order something and have it promptly come up as ready to ship. Otherwise, I like buying through them, since I can get the Got Anime discount, and occassionally they’ll be a bit cheaper than trying to buy from the source. At the very least, they’re usually the same price. I’ll look into the Media Mail thing, though, the next time I go to buy something from them, and see if I can’t save myself a couple extra dollars

Heh, well for me, media mail takes way too much longer. Conversely, ordering stuff from Japan via different shipping methods don’t make much difference in delivery times for me!

Well, between the Got Anime discount and the various studio sales, it’s worth it to save the extra money. And about half the time, even with the out of stock delays, I still usually get the DVD’s before I see them pop up at the retail stores locally.

Well, I’ll have to take perigee’s word for it that Media Mail works fairly fast if you’re ordering from California

I finally got Mega Man X 4 in the mail yesterday. What a pleasant surprise when coming home from my last day of school (posting thread about it soon). I checked the auction, and it had ended on 11 May… So if I take into account that I had payed a few days later, this game has been shipping for six weeks!
o_O

Ewww… I hate it if it takes longer than a couple of weeks. I’ve ordered things that have taken upwards of two months to arrive (I begin wondering if they have even shipped it). Most things aren’t so bad… but I’m impatient and hate sitting around and waiting for something that I’ve bought (at least RightStuf doesn’t charge me until after they’ve shipped the product, which in most cases means that I’ve usually got it by the time I’m charged for it).

Heh, then you probably learned not to preorder bishoujo game right? I mean, how many here have been sitting on LMM preorders for the past couple of years now?

Nope… didn’t know about that I guess I’m screwed on a couple of games, then, since I think I’m waiting for preorders Most of the stuff I’ve been ordering up until now has been older bishoujo (I’ve had to catch up to the market, and there’s still games I don’t have–although I’m not sure I’m going to get some of them), so I’m just getting to the point of preordering games.

What? you don't trust my word I live in california too you know Haha seriously media mail is the greatest with right stuff especially when you order more than $100 which I always do because then the shipping is free

As for their items always being on order. It really depends on the items. A lot of people tend to preorder from them so they get first dibs. The one thing you have to worry about though is if you order many items, they'll usually ship what they have right away, and if you have a bunch of stuff in backorder they'll group them in chunks to ship instead of shipping them as they come in. I forgot the exact formula they use. Of course you can tell them to ship as they get them but you'll get charged for the additional shipping.

Which is why I don't preorder games from PP G-coll doesn't have preorders so don't have to worry about them either.

I'll take your word for it, too--you just didn't say you lived in California before

Usually when RightStuf splits up my order, they also split the shipping cost, so I haven't worried too much about the shipping. (It may work out to a few extra cents, but I haven't stressed on it, anyway)

Heh, well I learned my lesson from the fun and games with Transfer Student's release.

Hmm, and now Right Stuf has a sale on their "in stock" items. Must remember not to dilly-dally this time on my order...

I’ll have to bear that in mind–especially since I’m getting the sinking feeling that the mailman dropped off my copy of Crescendo on my front patio on Monday while I was at work, and one of the punky little kids that have recently infested the appartment complex I live in walked off with the package. If I don’t get it in the next couple of days, I think I’m going to get stuck re-ordering it, and paying for it all over again. I may have to have all my orders shipped UPS, just to avoid having things left on my patio, if that’s the case

Ask your post office first, though.
Over here if they can’t put it in a mailbox, usually they leave a paper instead, telling you to come and get it at their office.

That’s the way they often do it here, too… but in this apartment complex, since there are enclosed patios, the mailman just leaves packages on the patio. But it looks like it just took longer than usual to ship, since–Hot Damn!Crescendo finally arrived today. Now, if I can just set some time aside to play it…

W00T! Glad to hear that.
Go you!

I’d like to thank all the people who suggested that I try out Crescendo… I played my first run through and enjoyed it quite a bit. The graphics were good, and the story kept my interest–although it was a bit short. I did have a rough time deciding whether to pursue Kaho or Kyoko the first time through–I settled on Kyoko (and was pleasantly surprised to find that she didn’t have large breasts ).

Yeah its a realy good game…
Go for the school nurse its a realy nice ending to that one

Well, eventually the idea is to get all the endings

... or at least as many as you can get, which isn't easy in the case of some games... If a game has, say, 50 different endings and you've found like, 45 of them, not many may bother to find these last 5 endings, probably because that they've exhausted all their ideas of how to get these last 5 endings and don't feel like seeing endings they've already seen all over again while there's other, completely undiscovered games witing for them ;p.
