Funny thing in the doushin demo :D

Hmm, yes, but I wonder if they shouldn't have the answer of that by now? Or are they just going to wait some months or so before they decide if the change was for the better or not?

Maybe, someone who reads japanese b-game-magazines would know how "Obbligato" ranks in the overall sales charts or if "Obbligato" is popular in japan, at all.
Remember: it was released at april 26th, so it would be a bit quick to decide 4 months after, if the experiment was a success.

Yes, it was not the look of characters, I expected. It takes some time, to get accustomed to this new style and thus, the movie felt like a slap into the face. But playing the demo helped a bit in this matter.
Exactly this is the point, why I think, it is would be still too early for CROWD, to come to a conclusion, if this new style has any future.

Well, often when you see a Crowd game, the warm art, especially that of the characters, give you a kind of warm feeling, but this wasn't the case of Obbligato (even if it was the case with OMnY ).

Once again, I am not sure, if this warm feeling was the same in X-Change, as in TCI. My feelings towards the maids in OMnY would be compared best to my feelings towards Tsumugi in... (Ouch! Not again! This time, I really told about this because I had no better comparison, and not in order to hurt you!)

Hmm, pity that no one can tell us how well each one of Crowd's (and Will's) games has sold in Japan.

If it's in the top 100 best sold game, it'd be easy: most bishoujo PC magazines have a ranking for them each month, both paper magazines and online ones.

Well, I suppose that you're right. So in other words we don't know for sure if the plan to do any permantent change or not. I don't hope they do, anyway. As nice a game as Obbligato might be, I like more the course where OMnY is going now, minus the fact (juding from what I've heard from you) that the fun parts in the game seems to not exist at all.

Hrh, the demo did impress me a bit too . The style is OK, as I said, but nothing great, so as I alredy mentioned, I hope that the art of OMnY becomes standard, rather than the art in Obbligato.

*growl* Well, it might be just a question about different views/tastes then . But the art in Dokusen that I've sene in the demo, on soem preview pages for the game and so on, does also give me this warm, fuzzy feeling ... ... I want Dokusen here *bawls*. But that was cruel, mentioning the maids of OMnY and the cute Tsumugi of Dokusen a tthe same time... ... *bawls some extra tears for both games*

And you happen to read those magazines? ^_^

It's a bit too harsh, to say "no fun parts at all". Playing OMnY is fun, but a diferent kind of fun, I was used to get from CROWD games.
To make this point clear: I still don't regret, I have bought it.

Really? Well, then the game might be a little less serious than I first thought.

Maybe, we understand the word "serious" differently? If I say "serious", I do not mean "bad".

Let's take "Kana" as an example: This game is (I think, we all agree about this) one of the best right now existing, but it is also literally dead-serious.

No, no, I didn't think of "serious" as "bad", or anything like that, just that the game seems to have a dark atmosphere, kind of like the atmosphere that can be felt when you look at Guilty's games. I do like serious stories (reads 'em all the time), so I don't mind them, but in some cases the seriousness can turn something good into soemthing bad, so I prefer if they don't make the story too serious. But serious or not, I can't judge what to think of the game before I've played it myself, right now I just judge what impressions I get of the gmae from an "onlookers" point of view, not a players point of view.

Actually, I can name at least one example where this definitely hurt an anime. Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne is the perfect example of a show that takes itself way too seriously. I'm a bit too tired to expound at length on this show's flaws (for which you should probably be thankful), but I'll just say that the show tries sooooo hard to be really dark and have so much tension and all that when really there's not much important actually going on.

Well, good that you see my point . That is not the cases of all dark stories through, but as you said, some tries a little too hard
