Who said Hitomi is dark? Vaga42Bond? As I recall, he said it looked dark to him, and that he needed to wash his eyes out with high molar acid…
It kind of puts the credibility of his statement in question, no?

It’s a dark game. Back when they initially announced the survey, they gave links to the Japanese developers’ sites, and I checked out one of the opening movies. It’s definitely a dark game.

Wow, putting the site through excite.co.jp gives a translation that’s actually understandable. It does sound kind of dark, but not necessarily in a brutal, violent sort of way. If it’s not a rape game then I’d actually be interested. I’m downloading the movie now, so I guess I’ll check it out some more then.

Couldn’t care less, period.
I watched the movie…it does seem to have some of the darker themes going on. Yet for some reason it doesn’t bother me like, for example, Sensei 2. It doesn’t seem abusive. It seems more like an awakening passion bursting forth, with the girls shocked and surprised but not necessarily forcefully violated, perhaps? The main character doesn’t seem like a douchebag like the main character in Slave Pageant (I only played a little of the latter, and of course I’m going on what I can understand of the site’s translation for Hitomi). The lack of bloody devirginizings probably helps significantly, no doubt. The girls themselves don’t look like glassy-eyed zombies in any of the pictures, nor do they seem to be weeping uncontrollably like rape victims. If my impressions are right, I wouldn’t mind this sort of “dark” game. As for whether I’ll actually get it, despite V-mate…we’ll see, I guess.
But feel free to set me straight if I have the wrong idea.

Really. It’s not funny like the Trabulance games, but is not very dark either. It looks like to be so or even less dark than GIBO-STEPMOTHER’S SIN.
The graphics looks like to be the best of all the G-Col games so far. The story, too, it seems to have some romantic elements, what’s good.
If that’s the case, i will give a try, for sure.

Well, GC has posted more information about the game, and these lines don’t cast it in a very wholesome light:

I guess those on the fence will have to wait for user opinions to know for sure. I’ve still got this persistent feeling that it’s not as abusive as it sounds, but maybe that’s just wishful thinking. In the end, it really comes down to the main character’s personality IMO. If he’s a scumbag, that’s a total put-off. If he’s a sympathetic character, and the bond is one of suppressed love unleashed rather than one of domination, then it’s all fine.

According the original WP, there’s at least one rape scene. But that don’t means this bgame is a wholesome rape-sim game. TOKIMEKI CHECK-IN and CRESCENDO have some, but even so are not considerated “Dark”.
Like Wanfu said, probably HmS will have lots of angst and temptation, with the protagonist fighting his dark desires… and sometimes losing.
I believe this Bgame is something in the line between GIBO and CRESCENDO. Has some “dark” themes and elements, but is not the darkest bgame we ever saw.

First, the order of announcements is switched, and second, Hitomi - My stepsister’s announcement has Let’s Meow Meow!'s pictures.
I just dropped by the GC site, and noticed that the release date of Nov 24 has been removed. Does this mean the game will be delayed?
