Jast AX 2009 panel (Family Project gold, Nitro+ partnership)

I don’t think that’s true at all - in fact, I think that might be a point to SUPPORT the choice of those to license.

JAST does not seem entirely opposed to the concept of negotiating to acquire an existing fan translation of a game, which would drastically cut the costs and time required to release a title. Furthermore, I highly doubt the market is anywhere near exhausted. I think it’s always been the case that import eroges are more difficult to buy than others unless they’re available for download (which neither of these are), and Saya no Uta is a relatively old (6 years or so?) title.

WELL NOW WE ARE BLUNT AREN’T WE? Just as long as we aren’t beating around the bush, well I’ll just say your absolutely right.

Now WE can leave it at that…

That’s news to me. Has this happened with a past title?

Can anyone confirm Family Project is gold master? I have not seen any other confirmation.

dont forget there is another Nitro+ game , Vampira Vagimawhatsit

Woot!!!

Also, the latest J-List newsletter mentions it in the product updates section (as well as mentioning that there is still time to order it and get free shipping).

Which reminds me something I totally forgot to ask. Is KK getting a download release too?

i hope it gets to everyone on time unlike CFA

By the way, OLF…

As our Nitroplus’ specialist, do you think Al Azif would be more popular if she were this way?

This is great news. I myself am looking forward to the yuri title, although will probably buy anything thrown my way and nitro+plus is known for some of the best eroge and visual novels that I know. I think Phantom of Inferno was one such game. I can’t wait for these series. We can probably expect to see the first of them for AX 2010.

As far as family project goes I just got noticed that they are now shipping from Japan and product will arrive ASAP. I can probably expect the game within the next 2 (possibly 3) weeks. That was definitely a surprise though. I hope downhill night or raidy is next. (preferably not all at once because I will be broke if that were the case.I have to buy Shuffle from mangagamer as well…)

Just got an e-mail confirming payment for FP:KK…sweet.

It appears to be a bustified Al Azif (from Demonbane).

That’s right. It’s lack colors, but it’s definitely her… a very endowed version, that is. :stuck_out_tongue:

As for the future releases, I want to see Demonbane in english too, but i confess right now i’m more curious about Jingai Makyou. I want to know what is all that i heard about how awesome Ignis is… even thought she is definitely NOT a loli!

demonbane might be able to come out by christmas
because jast usa is getting the scripts for fan translators

michelous beat me to the post, oh well here’s my two cents

This is a pretty interesting developement, especially since the translations for Saya and Chaos Head (only played a little bit of each) seemed pretty good. And if Peter can get 5pb to agree, I wonder if there’s any possibility with those fans who were working on a way to port Noah’s content to the PC (Okay it’s slim, but I can dream, can’t I?)

Well, Saya no Uta was a good fan-translation, they will probably need to check it but I don’t think there are many errors to be fixed. Using the fan translation would mean only a few weeks of work, and that is definitely nice. I’m more amazed that they are actually willing to bring a game like Saya no Uta in the western market. I mean, there’s no way you could possibly judge Saya to be 18+. Although, she’s not human, so I guess you couldn’t really define her loli  Oh well, I guess we’ll see.

Anyway, I think this is a smart move. Of course, everything that will help bringing these games to me in less time is a smart move

I don’t think this is a particularly wise move by JAST. Although I think it’s a great idea in principle to work with fan translators and it would also allow for faster/more high quality translations, in this case things could backfire horribly because of the staff involved.

I am also surprised they did it. But the Saya no Uta patch, at least, was removed almost immediately after Jast announced the deal with Nitro+ – and Saya no Uta was specifically not licensed in the initial announcement. So I guess as long as Nitro+ says they don’t mind, it’s OK.
