Lets Meow Meow and v-mate

@ Unholy

a) no, sorry

b) In old times, when men made the little hours of the night playing cards, often with conspicous bet, they used candles to enlighten the table. So, when the gain was not enough - or even worse it turned out to be a loss - it was common to say “The game is now not worth the candle”. Why i said that? Sigh, i really didn’t want to say that again - this is the 15th time, i believe… - but since you don’t know… for sure i don’t want to create a new 80 euros per month DSL contract just to play a 29.95 US $ game.

You can do more with an Internet connection at home than just play the game, mind.

Dear mister Benoit, everything in Italy is registered. Bureaucracy is impossible, and our efficent fiscal service taps it to calculate your presumptive icome and following that calculates your tax rate. This nice ““Redditometer”” includes I-connections contracts. The more you have, the more they think you gain, and the more you receive to pay. I’m not that stupid to place a target on my front. So i’ve placed a commercial line. I can surf the net as much as i want - as long as they don’t catch me -, but it’s limited by the fact i’m using my office PC. So no V-Mate games on this DSL line. Got the point?

OT - Yes, I do know how to get rid of the giant shiny buttons. My workplace upgraded to XP, and I was a ‘roving’ employee who worked on a large number of different computers during the day, so I had to spend quite a while fixing all the options on every single one of them to not drive me mad. (Not just the buttons, plenty of other things bugged me.)

HEY!!! I LIKE SHINY THINGS!!! (ie: Gold, Platinum, Diamonds )
Whats so bad about XP shiny buttons?? (but i do agree with the person who said that xp is so friendly that it almost treats you like an idiot -i dont remember who said it and i dont want to scroll up n’ down for the answer-)

It was me.

And no, Italicus, I don’t understand what the trouble is to get your own DSL line… Couldn’t make it out of your post.

i think that what he tried to say was that ‘The more things you have, the higger the taxes are’ (It’s pretty much the same here, in Argentina, where u have a tax to your riches -he more things you have, the higger the taxes are-)

I was just saying that Benoitian (Ben-waj-e-an) logic tends to diverge from the classical kind. You know, like how:

1) Great game packaging is very desirable, yet great graphics aren't.

2) Windows 95 is the gaming operating system of choice.

and

3) Final Fantasy X isn't an RPG.

But I apologize for the confusion. I thought you were still ranting about rule #2 above.

To get slightly back on-topic...I just started playing Hitomi yesterday, and I haven't had any problems at all. I'm running Windows XP. Well, I did somehow get funneled into a rape branch...can't really call that a "problem" though. The translation is actually quite good as far as writing quality and word choice go. The story is also interesting, believable, and well-told. The main character does make some rather odd leaps of logic though...

Please don’t twist things around…

Both are desirable. But the box shouldn’t affect your judgement, while the graphics should, in the case that they are ugly. It’s hard to enjoy a game with crappy graphics.

2) Windows 95 is the gaming operating system of choice.

For English bishoujo games.
Not for regular PC games that require a more recent OS.
For just browsing the web, doing basic stuff, emulating and playing some old games, Windows 95 rocks.
I recommend Windows 98 SE for the other things.

3) Final Fantasy X isn’t an RPG.

That I still stand by. A game consisting mostly of cutscenes is a movie, not an RPG.

Bah…you ruin my fun by being so…reasonable all of a sudden.

I still maintain that great graphics can be reason enough to buy a game…sometimes. For the most part, I’m probably a story-nut as much as you are. If the story isn’t top-notch, though, I also require pretty graphics in b-games (not just okay or average or “clean” graphics).

Hi, please contact us and/or G-Collections if you’re still having problems with the game. Just for the sake of argument, I’d like to point out that you’re almost certainly having a problem with the game in question, not with V-Mate, since it’s just a small process that checks your computer’s specs against what’s on the server when you load the game.

Pretty graphics? Like this?

This is from Soul Link which releases this Friday in Japan. A demo version is available for free if anyone is curious.

It took me a couple hours to download it with a broadband connection. If you have dial up, you might want to download it overnight. I like games like this where the entire cast (except the person you play as) is voiced. Too many times only the female characters are voiced. If you download it, let me know what you think.

And the Limited Edition comes with an artbook and a voice clock. A voice clock is an alarm clock but instead of making alarm sounds it plays the bishoujo character's voices. That was too big of an extra and my will power isn't very strong.

Very nice. I just wish I could understand the game. Oh well, might as well try the demo and see what I’m missing.

GRAAAAAAAAAARRRGGHH!!! My jealousy of the Japanese literate knows no bounds! If envy is one of the deadly sins, I’m headed for hell at Mach 5 right now! After browsing around the game’s main page, the pain of illiteracy is almost unbearable…

[This message has been edited by AG3 (edited 12-14-2004).]

How much is the LE and where can I get it? Damn a voice clock would totally be cool to have

That must be some slow broadband… It took me like 20 minutes… 0_o

Anyways, I’m starting to get used to playing Bishoujo demos that I can’t read… I just need to make sure I save before each ineraction…
