Limited edition items in japanese games!

I thought it would be a good idea for people to post about LE items in Japanese bishoujo games that they find interesting.

So as to be able to gawk at what they can’t have, plan to get things that they want, or to brag about the cool toy you got with a game that’s been out of print since 1998. ^^;;

It’s mostly to help myself, but I’m sure I’m not the only one here who’s intersted in Japanese-release games. ^^;;

well this is still speculation since it’s not released yet, but i ordered To Heart 2 deluxe pack and mine (should) come with postcards/clearfile, but the most interesting one is prolly the life size pillowcase and that’s the main reason i ordered it…we will see what it looks like when i get it in jan/feb

I’ll be getting the same stuff as Lamuness with To Heart 2, but no pillowcase because it’s a Sofmap exclusive. You mentioned not having a PS2, so does that mean you also need a memory card? You should get the limited edition To Heart 2 memory card.

As for Japanese bishoujo game extras, I don’t have anything to fantastic except for, obviously, the stuff I’ll be getting with Soul Link. A common limited edition item is a special box and/or the game’s soundtrack.

Duel Savior - all editions come with the soundtrack but the limited edition came with a CD with the opening themes to GIGA’s ten most recent games. (as of Duel Savior’s release on Oct 1st 2004) It has an awesome special box that opens like a book. I’m not sure if the regular edition has the same case or not.

Ui-chan no Niizuma Diary - This one came with cell phone strap. ^^;

Sora no Iro, Mizu no Iro - the first press came with a mini artbook, soundtrack and drama CD. Because of a certain incident, I only have the game discs and mini artbook.

By the way, if you created this thread to check to make sure that the voice clock that comes with soul link is the best bishoujo PC game extra available right now, I’m pretty sure that it is.

Is it just me or is this a really depressing topic?

My LE of Galaxy Angel (Brokkoli) contains an additional colored manual and a soundtrack-CD.
My LE of Galaxy Angel - Eternal Lovers (Brokkoli) came with a jigsaw-puzzle and 6 keychains… one for each angel.

… but some regular editions of japanese games have also nice extras that might be noteworthy (soundtracks, sketch-booklets, trading-cards, mousepads…).
Of course there is still no rival for that voice-clock…

While I know it’s not a Bishoujo game per se, but in Japan they have a special limited edition Dead or Alive: Ultimate set which includes a custom exterior xbox and a Kasumi ‘Love Pillow’. I’d say a Kasumi ‘love pilow’ would beat a clock…

If only it were Ayane instead…

Edit: It’s not really fair to count these in with “game extras” because this set includes the xbox itself. This is an entire console so of course it will be able to make a bigger bundle. The package says that this x-box is "Kasumi-chan blue."

Although it would be really interesting to have something like that, I don’t know if the xbox live function would work outside of Japan, or if you could register an American credit card. Oh well, I could just get the (lame) domestic version. It would be fun to play DoA with the Japanese players.

The Soul Link LE was the thing that spurred me to make this topic, but I'm intersted in the goodies that other games come with, too. ^_^;;

Actually, you could get this in America as well. The basic LE came with a Kasumi figure.

Eh, I like Hitomi the best. ^_^

GIRLS¬Éu¬É¬â¬É{¬Å[ Romance15’s DX¬Ép¬Éb¬ÉN (GIRLS Bravo Romance15’s Delux Pack) comes with a special drama CD and three bathtime figures! According to the page below, if you preorder the game then you will also get a special DVDPG. (DVD player game) That sounds like a pretty nice extra as well, but of course they won’t ship to me. I’ll have to bother Himeya about it. They’re pretty good about getting most reservation items as long as you do preorder the item. (as long as it’s not a sofmap exclusive item…)

Edit:

@Unicorn

You have the first GA game and Eternal Lovers but not Moonlit Lovers? Why is that? In any case, I don’t have any of them. Grr, jealous. There is a tread on the animesuki BBS where people are talking about these being translated into English. Let me just say that I doubt it.

Yeah. It looks to be one of those neverending threads that draws all the "me, too" replies.

My copy of Wordsworth came with a lenticular wordsworth mousepad

Dark Lord Zenigame,

How the heck did you get a Kasumi figure? The only version released in te US that I’ve found is the Collectors Edition of DOA: Ultimate and it doesn’t seem to come with anything…

I don’t have one, as I don’t have an X-box… ^_^;;

One of my minions preordered it from Tecmo and got the figure as a LE item. You could also preorder the special Xbox and get the hug pillow.

Long time ago, I preordered Viper RSR. I got copy of the anime cel. I was disappointed.

Another time, I preordered No Surface Moon, I got the dictionary for the game’s terminology. It was rather interesting.

I thought that Kao no Nai Tsuki/No Surface Moon’s anime version was pretty good. At least the animation quality was above average for adult anime. I wonder if the new episode will be relased in the US. Oh yeah, I really dislike the title “Moonlight Lady.” Did they just make that up out of the air?

Actually, I have all three of them, but my GAML isn't the LE, so it didn't qualify to be mentioned here, even though it contained in its regular edition still that nice Chitose-mousepad...
(By the way: as far as I know, the LE of GAML included the first game.)

That sounds to me as reliable as the multiple rumors regarding Kimi ga nozomu eien: Someone just let the words "it would be nice" fall and 5 boards later it somehow mutated into a certain release-date. Ah, the power of wishful thinking...

You should always give it a chance, though. It’s not just people talking about it. It’s a certain person trying to assemble information on how to go about releasing anime PC games, since he plans to. And he’s serious.

Hmm…hey so the people who got soul link get a chance to play it yet? i got it a while ago but haven’t had a chance to play it yet so I was hoping for some impressions on it

I got Soul Link in the mail Tursday… the extras are nice. ^^
Maybe I’ll post some pictures of everything that came with it eventually…

Oh yeah, Selen’s game Ringetsu has a limited-edition version, which has quite a lot of nice extras, including another clock(!).

Too bad I’m not interested in that kind of game, so I’m not going to get it… :<

Himeya has it in stock, but they have the wrong title listed when you click on the page. So if you want to look at the box picture, go to their page for the regular DVD version of the game.

…or, you could just go to Selen’s page here and see everything for yourself… ^
