MinDeadBlood

Has anyone else played MinDeadBlood?

I’ve been playing it for awhile and I think it’s awesome. This game actually involves a lot of strategy. You basically operate by moving your three vampires (Shizuru, Mayu and Mana) around the map to various hunting locations. There is a large assortment of characters that you can prey on, and change into vampires.

Each time you visit a location their level of blood absorption rises and they begin to react with more and more violence and bloodlust. (This is where most of the hentai scenes come in).

To complicate things, downtown, operating under the guise of a porno shop, there is a vampire hunter named Yuka, who can sense the changes going on.

She’s actually really hard to beat! If you move too slowly when you are changing your victims, she will move in and bless the place so that you can’t go there anymore. If you change a victim into a vampire before you are strong enough, she’ll move in and kill the newly made vampire and you as well, if you happen to be at the location when she moves in.

So far I’ve gotten four endings out of what looks like ten. I checked my gallery and I only have 53 percent of the CG’s, which means that there is half of the game that I still haven’t played. There are so many different ways you can change the story.

You can end up meeting Yuka before she knows you’re a vampire, you can turn the school, downtown, the local hospital, and the neighborhood into iniquitous pits of sin.

The characters are fascinating. Even Yuka has some kind of strange demonic alter ego that you can encounter in a couple of different ways. I’m having a great time playing this.

Anyways, I just wanted to know if anyone else has played it…

Sounds awesome!
I haven’t played it yet, thanks to a certain person who begged me to restrain myself from this one. So, it already sets since last year’s October…

However, I am certainly looking forward to playing it, as soon as I have cleared some more of my already started games.

Gotta ask – where can one buy it and how accessible is it to people who don’t know Japanese?

I got it off Himeya Soft…They might only be selling the expansion pack (Mayu and Mana) now. If you can’t find it there, try E-bay…

If you don’t know Japanese, or only know a small majority of phrases, the plot is still easy to follow. It has some great music too.

You make the game sound rather… easy <_<;;. I started playing that game this week, but so far I’ve only gotten the “Dead” ending. Oh, well, ganbarimasu!

Oh, and Mayu’s defintively Something . When I tried out the demo, I just assumed that she just had a few nasty sides, but now, palying the real thing, I realize she’s rather abit more… sadistic, almost! O_o.

I can help you out with some of the other endings. For the Vampire Hunter ending, don’t let Shizuru drink any blood, make sure he spends a lot of time at home and in the orchard. Best of luck!

Oi, oi, no spoilers, thank you very much! As I've not yet made THAT many attempts on the game yet, I prefer to try and find my own way into the endings, so to speak. Through there's othe rgmaes tot hink of as well.. ^^;;;

i guess i’ll have to buy it, seems rhater “interesting” :P…

Well, good luck finding it, as it won't be easy.. ^^;;.

But before that, why don't you download and try out the playable demo of that game, if you haven't already? The demo's not bad, far from it! And besides, it could help you establish whenever this game's really worth the trouble of getting it or not... .

It would be nice if you could give me a link to donwload it. XD
And, the harder to get something, the more rewarding it is. XD

Certamente! We Italians are the most helpful people of this world, do you know ? And don't gloat, European readers! Many bad habitudes are ubiquitous ...
Follow the Link and you will discover my micro-review and a few useful Links. And if you want to buy the game, I suggest you two things:
1) Ask to Himeya the "Marugoto" (complete, game+fandisk) Release, perhaps you will be lucky.
2) Otherwise, go to http://www.akibado.com/index.html . Very useful, you will get the game for sure, but maybe the price will be higher...

I loved all your links, especially the one with the cars.

I see what you mean about parts of it. But once you’ve been through it once, you just hit the shift key and the text flies by.

Your wish is my command! ;p. The playable demo can be found here: http://download.cyc-soft.jp/mindtai.exe ... However, be prepared. The demo is rather BIG (153 MB), so unless your demo si rather fast, prpare for some waiting...

Good luck getting the game then. Thorugh perhaps, it migh tbe better to wait. It says soemtihng on black cyc's homepage about minDeadBlood and the sixth July, but as this computer doesn't have JP language support and adding to the fact that I've soon got to go to sleep (early morning tomorrow), I didn't quite get was it was about, so...

Actually, I was wrong. I just checked Himeya and they do have it. Just type black cyc into the search engine and it should bring it up.

Ah, Hhaze is indeed correct! MinDeadBlood is back at himeya, so for those of you interested in it, this is your chance! .

Is there anyone else that thinks that Mana is actually worse than Mayu? She's SOOOOO.... creepy. At least later on the game provides reasons for Mayu being the way she is.

Well it depends on your definition of worst.

Mayu is more direct with her vicious nature. She doesn’t try to hide her intentions, and will pretty much rip you apart on the spot if she can. However, she has a bit of a “coward” in her (for lack of a better word), because when she’s over her head, she looks towards others for support/help. Nevertheless, she takes advantage of situations when she can, and is very conniving. One of her weaknesses: when she loves someone, she places all her trust in them.

Mana is more backstabbing in her ways. She prefers getting you from the shadows. Ironically, she also doesn’t take betrayal very well, and goes off the deep end when it happens to her. Naturally, her closet masochist side adds a few “issues” to her personality traits. Mana keeps her thoughts and emotions to herself, so it makes her difficult to read, but all and all, she’s a sheltered girl (albeit with dark intentions). One of her weaknesses: Doesn’t take betrayal well, and will react with animalistic savagery rather than intellect when it happens.

EDIT
Side question here… did they ever exactly reveal a reason why Mana is so crazy against betrayal? I doubt it, as I really don’t recall anything, and betrayal itself is a pretty good reason to hate people who do it. I suppose it’s just an interesting layer to her character, given that she will perform betrayal as a reaction to it.

All the more reason to maintain the “twincest sharing” relationship.

*******MORE SPOILERS********************

Have you gotten all the endings yet? I just got the one where the twins got captured by Hitomi and that teacher. I almost...(but not quite) felt sorry for Mayu. Of course, it could be argued that she had it coming...

(Sigh) I really think this game should be translated into English, although it would take forever. It's so complex and there's so much going on in it.

Oh I read on Elizar.com that "Gore Screaming Show" is by the same crew, and is supposed to be just as good as Mindead Blood. It's also supposed to take place on the island of Chisakura.

I am the Elizar guy.

http://www.elizar.com/about.htm

Gore Screaming Show takes place in a small uburb a few miles away from the events of MinDeaD BlooD. Judging from a cameo appearance in GSS, I’m guessing MinDeaD happens several weeks later in the timeline. It’s not Chisakura Island, but some of the characters have been there: Yoshiki for sure. Yamiko at least knows strange things are going on there.

I’ve gotten all the endings to MinDeaD BlooD (both versions), as it one of my favorite titles of all time.

The Hitomi betrayal event is one of my favorite ways to end the original game. Not the “bad end” that follows if Shizuru doesn’t do anything, but where if you save them and then contiune the game to get the ending where the trio go to Romania. It offers Shizuru, Mana, and Mayu a “non-violent” happy end together, with the vampire hunters allowed to survive. I know you can get that end without the entire Hitomi thing, but it seems “right” with the entire idea that Shizuru-Mana-Mayu are sticking together from that point foward. If there ever was a moment that the twins would feel safe and happy under the protection of Shizuru, that would be it.

I like your page . You actually convinced me to give "Gore Screaming Show" a try. Small world, huh?

By the way, did you ever play "Fantasy Hallway"? That one was a little weird, it still seemed to have some good character development though, but my Japanese isn't that good and the fact that they kept putting Taro in girl's clothing really freaked me out. My favorite character was Yumiko.
