Nitro+ by JAST USA

I figured it would be nice to have a thread for anything related to Nitro+USA.

The following Nitro+ titles have been announced!!!

Saya no Uta ~ The Song of Saya
Kikokugai: The Cyber Slayer
Hanachirasu
Sumaga
Outlaw Django ~ Zoku: Satsuriku no Django

(Demonbane is already released.)

Here’s a list of all Nitro+ and related games :

I really hope it is “Hello, World.” (but I doubt it! If it is though, I might be forced to buy like 10 copies…)
Although, I’ll be happy with almost any of these…

EDIT: Original Post :

http://twitter.com/#!/jastusa/status/80149621560713216

I’m glad to hear it’s doing pretty well  I hope it does even better…
…and I wonder what the next game might be? Anyone want to guess?

Probably not:
[]Phantom / Integration[/]
[]Vjedogonia[/]
[]Kikokugai[/]
[]Sabbath Nabe (Dra Koi)[/]
because JAST doesn’t seem interested in pursuing unvoiced works

Probably not:
[]Hello, World[/]
because it’s old and looks funny and would be horrifyingly expensive to translate

Probably not:
[]Soukou Akki Muramasa[/]
because the visual design of the game is largely built around columnar text, which is irritating to read in English

If I were to make a suggestion, I’d probably suggest Zoku Satsuriku no Django or possibly Tenshi no Nichou Kenjuu.

Its Jingai makyo and/or Nitro+Royale

Work was stopped on Jingai Makyo because the engine wasn’t Windows 7 compatible, however they created a new engine for the English market (Same one Demonbane used) so that wont be a problem anymore.

http://twitter.com/#!/jastusa/status/72594030013329408

Nitro+Royale was hinted at but never officially confirmed, details here: http://novelnews.net/2009/07/20/jast-usa-lets-out-some-more-info-at-otakon/#hide

The team for SuMaGa was confirmed to still be translating the game, so that may be a future release. They’re at 81.3% translated currently.

Saya No Uta has also been rumored since theirs a US comic and a possible Hollywood Movie of it. So the visual Novel would make a perfect tie-in, despite the patch. (Details: http://novelnews.net/2009/07/20/jast-usa-lets-out-some-more-info-at-otakon/#hide)

The next one is probably Jingai Makyou. I’m hoping to see Gekkou no Carnevale and Sumga soon, too.

Boooooooo~

It’s only one year older than Demonbane, and from the screenshots seem like it uses the same mobile textbox engine as Demonbane.
As for looking funny… Does it really look funny? Flash Trailer Opening with eng subs
Maybe it’s a bit minimalistic or loli at times, but I mean I thought DEMONBANE looked funny, until I fell in love with it… [I suppose it was more the characters though than the style of art]

I agree with the Hello, World being a huge challenge to translate, since it’s so long! But… it’s so good! At least from the comments/reviews I’ve seen over time. I wonder if Ixrec would translate it…

Anyways here are some vndb ratings :
http://vndb.org/v431 22 votes total, average 8.73 (very good) < hello world - 50+ hours
http://vndb.org/v231 118 votes total, average 7.82 (good) < demonbane - 30-50 hours
http://vndb.org/v400 27 votes total, average 7.56 (good) < jingai makyou - 10-30 hours
http://vndb.org/v648 55 votes total, average 8.44 (very good) < sumaga - 50+ hours
http://vndb.org/v102 56 votes total, average 8.23 (very good) < gekkou no carnevale - 30-50 hours
http://vndb.org/v97 1364 votes total, average 8.50 (very good) < saya - 2-10 hours

I agree that Hello, World is probably the best Nitroplus title after Steins;Gate but, yes, the art style is quite a bit more minimalist than Demonbane’s (although with far better backgrounds- actual drawn backgrounds, not 3D renders and processed photos)

As was already posted by others - I’d expect Jingai Makyo and Saya no Uta. It is also possible that Demonbane 2 might be released, if Demonbane did really super well.

I’m interested in … well, to be honest, pretty much anything from NitroPlus at this point. I’m familiar with four games of theirs: Demonbane, Phantom of Inferno, Saya no Uta, and Gekkou no Carnevale. Phantom I own, but it’s (ugh) DVDPG, so I never got around to playing it and dunno much about it. Other than that one, Demonbane is awesome, and Saya no Uta and Gekkou no Carnevale both sound really good. So: of the three games of theirs I am familiar with, all three of them sound really good. And the one I’ve actually played, I know to be awesome.

Given this track record, it doesn’t matter - if it is a Nitroplus game, then I am at least interested in it, and probably stoked

Jingai Makyou has these listed as the publisher on the VNDB website:
Nitroplus
Team Basilisk
Sumisora
JAST USA <-------------
Time to start speculating.
http://vndb.org/v400

That is almost certainly due to the fact that Jingai Makyou was announced by Jast in the past. They originally announced it at the same time as Demonbane … and then the huge delays with Demonbane happened.

Eventually the game was deleted from the “in progress” thread entirely. When asked about it, they said that was because the schedule they had been working under was no longer applicable. But there was a period of more than a year where Jast USA said “yeah, we’re totally doing that game guys”.

If the rumors are correct, it was dropped due to engine problems with windows 7.

However since Nitro+ made a new engine for the English market, this problem may have been averted. It was hinted at in this twitter post. http://twitter.com/#!/jastusa/status/72594030013329408

We were told via twitter to expect more announcements “before AX”. That’s essentially “in the next 2 weeks”. Given the way previous announcements have ended up happening right on the nose of the deadline for when they said they’d be forthcoming, we can probably expect to hear new games announced on 6/30 at 11:58 PM ¬¨_¬¨

I’ll leave this here…

Never been to one of those conventions… but now I kinda want to go… Kalafina too?
I wonder if the president himself will announce in person the next Nitro+USA title?

I suppose that partially answers the question I’ve had since starting to watch “Blassreiter” regarding how much of their business is animation.

Well, nowadays Nitro+ is well now for creating Eroge/VN with “heavy” story… and it’s one of the rare who publish all age console title only (with enterbrain with Kimikiss and Amagami for exemple)… So it’s quite normal that than trying otherthing, especially since the good success of Demonbane TV.

And Madoka was quite good and SHAFT did a good job on it (better than the second season of Maria Holic and thay didn’t screw the timeline like the Hidamari Sketch, Zetsubou Sensei and Soredemo Machi wa Mawatte Iru )

In case people haven’t seen; the new titles are:

Nitro+JAST USA
Saya No Uta
Kikokugai
hanachirasu
Sumaga
Zoku Satsuriku no Django

Peach Princess
Seinarukana -The Spirit of Eternity Sword 2-
Starless

Oh, I secretly hoped this would happen so I haven’t purchased Saya no Uta and the rest. I’m sure the people who have already played those won’t be as happy though.

I would imagine most who have played those haven’t bought them yet though… [I couldn’t even find them to buy so…]
So, if they include extras or make it nice packaging… it will be worth it to me

But, none of those titles are officially confirmed yet… just most likely from the hint. I will rant after the confirmation. (SUMAGA)

I updated the first post.

The following Nitro+ titles have been confirmed!!!

Saya no Uta ~ The Song of Saya
Kikokugai: The Cyber Slayer
Hanachirasu
Sumaga
Outlaw Django ~ Zoku: Satsuriku no Django

Which is added to :

(Demonbane which is already released.)

That’s a lot of announcements… and ALL of these Nitro+ titles, ALL at once…
I’m happy … 8) Because this means Nitro+ seems to be taking us seriously :!:

If the prices of :
Saya no Uta ~ The Song of Saya
Kikokugai: The Cyber Slayer
Hanachirasu

are lower than Demonbane was initially, then this is gold.

If we trust vndb ratings… then it looks like we’re in pretty nice shape, with Saya and Sumaga being the best :

http://vndb.org/v430 197 votes total, average 7.35 (good) < hanachirasu 2-10 hours
http://vndb.org/v183 288 votes total, average 7.55 (good) < kikokugai 2-10 hours
http://vndb.org/v231 143 votes total, average 7.71 (good) < demonbane - 30-50 hours
http://vndb.org/v428 26 votes total, average 7.96 (good) < django 10-30 hours
http://vndb.org/v648 55 votes total, average 8.44 (very good) < sumaga - 50+ hours
http://vndb.org/v97 1389 votes total, average 8.50 (very good) < saya - 2-10 hours

I wonder what kind of schedule for release they are going for… JAST sure has a lot of games in queue.
