Well, I have yet to read the opinion (I’ll do that later when I’m not at work) but they’re different issues. Not that I agree with the Court’s position necessarily … but they’re different issues.

  1. The law at issue put limits on being able to say anything at all.

  2. As far as I know, the law in question did not distinguish between “lies or misleading statements” and “truthful statements” - you weren’t allowed to say “we want you to vote for X” at all, period.

I think it would probably be constitutional to write an entirely different kind of law, to permit this kind of advertising, yet also making it illegal to conceal who is doing the advertising (this is a kind of fraud) or lying to the public. But then I haven’t read the opinon yet.

I’m telling ya Nandemonai, the Cyberpunk age is gonna come when the Supreme Court grants corporations the right to field their own private military forces… well… okay… maybe not.

On another note: Bad daddy. Oh so bad. Narg did it so many times, he’s going to Princess Maker hell. Who’s your daddy?

Hey, if it’s love…

I can’t tell you how many times I got the ending where you marry your daughter back when I played the pirated version of the PM2 translation back before I knew it was pirated. I got it so often, that I just accepted it and made it so that they were essentially the same age. :stuck_out_tongue: Also, given that I tended to raise how I thought I would try and raise a daughter at the time, I usually ended up with her being a writer or an artist. I really miss playing Princess Maker. Money is tight right now, but I may just have to see about getting one of the newer games in the series since I can probably understand it now.

Princess Maker 4 is very story driven, where what story events you unlock and people you befriend, is just as important as what your daughter’s stats are. It’s the most bgame inspired entry in the entire franchise. Also drawn by Tenhiro (the guy who did Sister Princess) - so the artwork is divine.

Princess Maker 5 has the most features of any Princess Maker. There’s a ton of things your daughter can do, more stats to influence, and the schedule is weekly instead of monthly. There’s also an RPG mode again (although PM2 is superior in this regard). You can be a mommy instead of a daddy too.

Basically PM4 is for those who wanted more character development; and PM5 is for those who wanted more daughter managing. I ended up getting both. :stuck_out_tongue:

An interesting article about the US bail system:

It’s this very system that forms the foundation of American bounty hunting.

EDIT

This was just emailed to me. Zelda VS Darksiders. This is what happens when someone lets a fanboy near a keyboard. :stuck_out_tongue:

[snip]

You know, that is pretty funny and all, but I’m maybe 60-75% sure that whoever wrote it was, in fact, being sarcastic. (Of course, three pages is a long time to crack wise about something.) It seems more like someone trying to rip off Zero Punctuation’s style, and sort-of being successful, than an actual 100%-serious fanboy.

ME2… vastly over-rated so far. Good stand alone game, but a terrible sequel.

I find it a much improved game, actually. The story is actually interesting from the get go, rather than having a pretty lame introductory sequence. A lot of games have trouble with that, actually, but RPGs are the worst, since you’re supposed to suck at the start of the game, but be awesome at the end. Waaay too many RPGs start off with “so yeah, you kids think you can do something about the rats in my basement?”

I thought the whole opening of the original Mass Effect was pretty weak. By the end, it had improved dramatically. In contrast I find ME2 to have started off quite well. Of course, I’m only at the very beginning … but it’s already grabbed me in a way that Dragon Age only managed to do briefly thru the whole game.

If find neither ME or DA to be appealing. Personally I think the “romance women” are really ugly in Dragon Age.

Last RPG’ish game I played on 360 was Fable 2 and Overlord 2.

I couldn’t help but think during the opening that it was a ploy to start from scratch for the most part. Considering how insignificant the carry over is from ME1 to ME2 and the pathetic job with the ME1 LI’s, certain lore contradictions (ammo being the most obvious), and Liara… holy shit is Liara the epitomy of a talentless writer thinking “dark” and “edgy” angst automatically makes something better. Too bad they forgot continuity…

I don’t know about anyone else, but I think that the latest “improvements” to the Youtube interface are severely retarded. My main complaint is over replacing the “high quality” button. The reason is that for “videos” that are essentially a picture and music, (for example, Narg’s upload of “Another Sky” from BDD) terms like 360p and 480p mean nothing.
