Whoever romanised the title on vndb made quite a few mistakes whilst doing so, including some minor ones eg. ??? = Jinsekimitou, ??? = Shoutengai, not Shouten Gai, and some more serious, eg. ??? = Kawanoguchi Nobu, ?? = Hakkyou, ??? = Kakusareta and ??? = Nazo wo Oe. It’s a Liar Soft title, and they do have a certain reputation for originality and pushing the boundaries.
I played the trial of it quite a while ago. It’s rather amusing and offbeat, but it’s certainly not Liar Soft’s best eroge and the gameplay doesn’t appear to be particularly well designed. I’ll still probably get it once it’s available for dlsales a few years down the track.
According to the Classical Laws of Sword and Magic fantasy settings, this is the most powerful armor a woman can wear (high heels optional).
On a side note: Red Sonja. Anyone else ever heard of her?
Get this… she got her “higher than normal” powers from a battle goddess, because she was raped as a child, and was now divinely tasked to seek out revenge against those who wronged her, and become a champion for the innocent. There’s a catch though… if she were DEFEATED by a man in combat, she’d lose those powers and/or be forced to follow that man. However Sonja hates men - for obvious reasons - so such a guy would pretty much have to rape her. Yea… begins and ends the same way.
Narg: Very impractical. Look at that flimsy armour! If you yank off any or all of those pieces, she’s completely done for. Now, I’m dreaming of seeing men dressed as such.
Watched Ichi starring Haruka Ayase. Movie isn’t terrible… but it’s not all that great either. Average flick… worth watching if you have time to waste and like the Zatoichi saga… but nothing to go all out for. The twist this time around, is that it’s a blind swordswoman.
My biggest gripe with the story, is that she’s falls in the “traditional role” of a woman that needs saving. I’ve got nothing against a woman kicking ass: that’s the great part. My beef is that a point reaches in the story, where she needs a man to save and turn her life around… twice technically speaking. The male Zatoichi never falls into a rut where he needed a woman to save him. Get revenge for her? Sure. Fall into a trap because of her? Of course. But needing a woman to save him because of his own inadequate mistakes? Naw… not even when he’s drunk.
Of course it’s a Japanese film, primarily targeting Japanese males… so I guess they had to do it. But Ichi kinda gets under my skin, for the same reason that Bayonetta? did - a man has to come save the day… even if the powerful woman does the ultimate ass kicking on the final boss.
Action Bitch shouldn’t need saving: that’s why she’s the Action Bitch. 8)
I don’t know if it’s because I’m just not properly adjusting to a feminine Zatoichi (i.e. more emotionally vulnerable) - or if it’s because I’m disappointed that a female Zatoichi isn’t as “resilient” as her male counterpart. Haruka Ayase is cuter than any old man though. No question on that.
Personally, I can’t stand watching soccer. Boring as hell to me, as well as annoying when anyone makes a goal and and an announcer makes a one syllable word last 10 fucking seconds. I also have issues with soccer fans, but I’m not going to get in to that. Suffice it to say that there is something seriously wrong when you have incidents like fans murdering and people being crushed to death at games.
Traditionally club rivalries have been something like Working class Vs Elite, in some cases its over faiths. And for people who have both passion for the game and see it as a refuge, things do get pretty ugly.
Dont wanna sound preachy, but different teams play with different mentalities and tactics (right now Brazil are pretty lame), and yeah commentators do exaggerate things, but thats normal in any game.
I’m pretty much in agreement with you on everything there. I normally can’t stand soccer, but there is something different about the World Cup. Just like the Super Bowl pulls in people who will never watch a regular season game, the World Cup has a certain energy about it that pulls you in. Of course the dives some of these guys take has really started to get on my nerves, at least make sure that you actually got touched before falling to the ground in feigned agony.
U.S. scores the winning goal in the first of four minutes of stoppage time at the end of the game! This despite the fact that for the second straight game we had a goal wrongfully disallowed. Why do they have to try and make this like a Hollywood movie?!
