Thanks guys. It’s not quite yet official yet: I still have to fly to New York for an orientation brief. I’ll get to make final decision there, after hearing all the stuff they can’t tell me over the phone and video conferences… and they can make their final choice after meeting me in person (there’s a bit of physical requirements due to the region’s environment). I doubt problems on either issue, but like they say, “till the fat lady sings…”
Several good things actually. I’m told there’s nothing to do for 20 hours a day, and that’s been one problem for the person I’m replacing, because there’s nothing there to do. So there won’t be any issue with me not finding time to work on it. 
And of course, since it’s always been an out of pocket finance, that too has been boosted. It was never intended to contain adult content, so I can work on things on a personal laptop (there’s power at the location)… just can’t really communicate with others (or ever refer and use resources of my Nargrakhan online handle – tainted with sin it is). So I’ve got dedicated dialog fixing and programming for a full year: 20 hours a day of it, for a full year. Best case scenario? Late 2013 release, since I can trust the artists to work on their own. The soundtrack and sound resources were finished about four months ago.
No worries: dumping them with mom.

Kinda echoes what I have concluded for a long time as well. Why should one spend on Apple when they can get the same from Samsung at half prices. The court verdict proves it quite aptly.

For possibly the first time in my life I actually agree with the NRA. The idea present in much of Western culture that sex is worse than violence is ridiculous. Little typifies the hypocrisy than the whole uproar about the GTA Hot Coffee mod- the fact that there was this sort of reaction to the presence of a ridiculously silly and unrealistic sex minigame that was locked away inside a game where shooting cops is part of standard gameplay is fucked up.
Of course, the NRA is only saying this because they want to avoid the reality that placing extremely dangerous tools within easy access of the sociopaths video games supposedly create deserves a far greater proportion of the blame. Not that gun control would necessarily work (I don’t see the US government being able to afford a national gun buyback, which is a necessary first step) but it’s a discussion that needs to be had. The NRA doesn’t want that discussion so they’ll blame shootings on anything other than the guns.
