Errrr, for the record, this is actually a *small* talk about a game I liked... I didn't have much time so I skipped description of the characters, talk about the settings, details about the interface, the omake, etc. ^^;;;;;

I only know the characters from the first three OVA-episodes and they are all from Toraha 2.But I have to admit, the rather unusual mix of characters in a quite more familiar setting appealed me most. After all, at first it resembled Love Hina, only with the difference that even Kaolla Su would have been quite dull compared to the characters in this story.
Why is it that people would compare Toraha to LH? Just because the main character gets to work at an all-girl dormitory? Geez, it's just like all giant-robot shows are clones because the main hero is piloting a robot and fighting evil... o_O;;;

Okay, now I know I should never engage you in “small talk” Olf-san!

Heh, beats me. I guess it’s whatever people are familiar with. Though one of these days I really should watch Evangelion so I can find out why people keep telling me such and such shows are only “Evangelion clones”.

Actually, I think I'll miss less, if I complete my course for learning the Kanji first, before I start playing these games.

BTW: Do all the toyboxes belong to the third part? I thought, there was one that relates to the second one, but I may be mistaken...

The setting is quite similar, so the comparison isn't that far-fetched.
Also, I have th eimpression, each of them lives by the variety of it's characters and is not that much driven by a main plot.

No, first toybox is related to Toraha1&2, second is related to Toraha3 and third is related to all of them.

How many ren'ai games have a main plot? Don't most of them just tell the story of each girl? OTOH, LH has a main plot: Idiotarou and Naru entering Todai.

I see. If that is a main plot, probably every ren'ai game has the main plot: Main character in search for the love of his live.

But stragely, there are a lot of episodes in LH, where the main plot is somehow missing (for example the beach teahouse episodes).

Hai, Olf-dono!

Actually that reminds me of something. Given what I know about the "-dono" honorific, isn't Miyabi, in Ai Yori Aoshi, use of it in regards to Kaoru a little odd? I mean, since their "public" relation is her being the manager and him being a tenant. I would think the other characters would question it a little. Or is this just another aspect of polite Japanese conversation that eludes me?

Just what is the -dono meant as? Because the first time I’ve heard that used was in Ai Yori Aoshi.

Are you kidding us?

The top-twenty of japans 10 best animes and not one movie of Studio Ghibli among them? Not even "Spirited Away (Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi)", that is already a worldwide success?

Instead we have "Sailor Moon" and "Dragon Ball Z"?
Even "Cowboy Bebob", whose style of drawing is aiming for the border of not being manga-style anymore (which I hate passionately)?

Apparently, this is really the reality because that hurt. But it didn't hurt as much as learning that the japanese audience ignores Ghibli in favor of cheap mainstream series.

Would you mind adding "M.D. Geist" to that list in order to confirm that this was really meant to be a joke?

Noticed that all of the list are TV series? Ghibli does movies, not TV series...
When I read the list people on the BBS posted, I noticed that you're all mixing OAV, TV series and movies, thus comparing things that can not be compared. The budget and constraints of each media make them only comparable in their own category... at least.

It's more or less as it's translated there where it's done as "Sir". I've seen it translated as "Lord" as well. I get the impression that it's either a bit more formal or archaic that the use of "-sama". But generally it's a low rank address of a higher ranked person, so that's why I always wondered why the others in the household never question Miyabi's use of it for Kaoru. (Then again, they probably know better than to quesiton Miyabi right? )

Yep. They sure are...be glad I didn't try to get the picture into the BBS directly (I don't wanna get my post edited again...just what's wrong with Make Money Fast anyway, besides all the wrong stuff?)

I have a friend who had his tongue *pierced*, but that can heal and you can just not wear the stud...and I'd imagine it'd hurt a HELL of a lot less. This looks to be irreversible >_<

all i have to say about that is…EW EW EW EW EW EWWWWWWWWWWW! don’t get near me with that tongue!!!
