Refresh my memory, Lamuness...

It seems I was the next victim of the BBS problem as I also had to re-register. Not too concerned though, however, it also means I am no longer among the first who registered in the board. Oh, well... Start from scratch...

But the history! The status of being one of the earliest lunatics here! You can't loose that!

Hmm, sounds like part of the database crashed or got corrupted.

That's exactly what happened. For a short period while the BBS was messed up Lamuness had posted some new topics, but they were empty; and they had no associated links, so they couldn't be viewed.

I'm still pissed that I lost all my posts. Guess nothing really can be done, though...Anyone have any clue what the last true figure was? I should have had about 1700 posts...

And now, for something completely different. The ending of the second season of Mahoromatic is really something else; I'm still not even sure whether I'd say it sucked, or was good, or both.

Well, I was able to post using the same user/password even after your initial problem, so, if that's the case, the problem is still out there.

The posts are still there, just that it wasn't "you" who posted them! ^_^

IIRC, I had around 800 posts, mainly because I am more of a lurker type.

Does Mahoromatic 2 follow the same pattern as Mahoromatic 1? That is, the first couple of episodes were mostly comedy with some "ecchiness", but after that, it got somewhat more, errr..., serious. At the end, it disappointed me. I guess, for some reason, I prefer Onegai Teacher...

On my to watch list is Millenium Actress. Any quick comments on this one before I watch it?

Addition: Waiting for spring... For Comipa DVDs!

As for Millenium Actress, I only really have a few comments; it's by the director of Perfect Blue, but bears only stylistic similarities. It's really quite an impressive movie. (And don't worry; it's definitely not a slasher film.)

Mahoromatic season 2's serious episodes pack QUITE a bit more punch than season 1's, but it suffers from the same general structure: a bunch of episodes that are of tangential interest, where nothing really happens and it's kind of boring - then switch all of a sudden into plot mode. It's...frustrating, because they kind of ran out of time to do their serious plot, and didn't therefore accomplish as much as they could - should - have. I'd talk more, but that would be a spoiler and I haven't got time. Perhaps later.

Sorry, not sure. I barely keep track of my own post count.

I'm a bit mixed about it myself. I like part of what they did, but I think other parts could have been done better. Plus, I'm just left with a bunch of unanswered questions...

Hmm, great. Fxho-san, you reminded me about that very last Onegai Teacher episode. I mean, that was hilarious in so many ways. Actually, that series is interesting to me since I've read the manga, seen the anime and now am reading through the "novel". Interesting to see what the differences are in each medium.

To everyone in the US - I hope you enjoyed Martin Luther King Jr. Day; it’s not exactly the kind of holiday where you say “Happy MLK Day!” - but I will remember you, Dr. King. Some of us had to work today (grumble grumble), which I personally find an odd choice of a holiday to not celebrate. Oh, well.

For our non-American b-game fans, the short version: Dr. Martin Luther King was one of the leaders of the civil rights movement, a big promoter of non-violent resistance to the racist systems in place in the sixties in the US. He was assassinated.

Ok, there has been one too many threats to the Thread of Complete Lunacy

I hereby place this thread under my Divine Protection, right alongside kittens and goats

Well, that pretty much ensures this thread’s survival. I mean, have you seen the amount of kittens and goats around here…

Well, no, woodelf wasn’t making a death threat. He was speaking German. And no one who speaks German can be an evil man.

Amen!

Almost forgot. To all the ladies who grace us on this BBS, “Happy Girl’s Day”!

Yes. March 3rd is "Girl's Day". Also known as "Hina matsuri", "Doll's Festival". (And if you're wondering, the related "Boy's Day" is May 5th.) If you do a couple of internet searches, you should find several pages on the subject. You think I sit around and just make stuff up?

Sure, why not? I have a friend who attempted to convince me (and, for a time, succeeded) that there existed a fictitious anime show by the name of "Modern Mythology".

And come on! This is Japan we're talking about, right? Why is there no Android's Day? ... then again, being Japan, I suppose most androids are girl androids ...

We used to celebrate Boy’s Day. I think my little koi flag thing is somewhere in the attic. At least I know that I don’t have to go out and buy a new one should I ever have a baby boy.
