The ToS says only that you agree not to upload ‘obscene’ materials. No court has ever found School Days to be obscene. If they wanted to ban all sexually-explicit material, they could have done so. There is no ToS violation at all.
Of course, the ToS says they can remove anything they want for any reason, or no reason. But you can’t be said to be “violating” that section.
Maybe you should just host a wiki someplace else. I’d totally put up a general eroge wiki if it weren’t for the fact that MediaWiki can be a headache just to maintain. Still, maybe things are a bit different now, software more mature or whatever. Would people use an erogewiki.org (or something?)
I assume it would be pretty much pages about specific eroges, eroge characters, eroge writers, eroge artists, you get the picture. Stuff that wouldn’t necessarily pass on Wikipedia but could still be of interest.
also I wouldn’t work on it, other people would do that. that’s the point of a wiki!
Not really, I imagine something far freer in structure to eroges to be described in as much detail as they warrant. Swan-eye’s #4375th nukige would probably get at most a short page with a few details, much like a typical vndb page- on the other hand something like Clannad might justify a longer page, perhaps with individual pages for each of the major characters etc.
It would also support a good amount of detailed information on things that aren’t eroges such as scenario writers, artists, brands etc.
Does anyone know what the primary differences (aside from being in English, of course) between the HQ version that’s being translated and the original 2005 Japanese release are? From what I understand, the original version was also an animated game (be interesting to play, never knew those existed prior to this), is this true?

Yes, the original was animated. There’s animated eroges that predate School Days though; Green and LOVERS come to mind. There’s also those horribly ugly 3D ones by Illusion, Teatime etc. but those probably don’t count; not really being ‘animated’ (as in, drawn)
So they chose the mouse pad? Not sure if I’ll be getting the LE then. Especially if it’s the same mouse pads you see when google imaging “school days mouse pad.”
Will there be more to it than that?
I’ll be honest, a mouse pad - especially the ones on google images - is not really pushing me to buy a limited edition. And it really wouldn’t be too tough to convince me to buy a LE if there was actually something I was interested in.
I’m not sure why they decided not to do that. Myself I’m not even sure I want to buy the game at all, so there’s no way I was going to buy any LE anyway.
As opposed to something I would actually want. A shirt, a keychain, something Nice Boat related…There are several things better than a mouse pad I’d be embarrassed to own or panties. Personally, I’m not here for the animated porn, I’m here because the anime made me want to try the game.
