Snow Sakura Q&A Thread - Now on sale!

I thought it was a sea of fire periodically dotted by vast CD replication facilities, but it seems I still have much to learn…

Seriously though, let’s try to stay on topic if at all possible. ^^;;

A few more questions - some of which are perhaps more important than others

There are three male characters who play rather prominent roles in the Snow Sakura story who aren’t introduced on the PP site. The first is your uncle Takeaki, who could be called a “rugged individualist comic mentor”. He treats you like the son he never had, though that often involves playing pranks on you that he seems to execute in perfect seriousness. Saki gets a lot of her personality traits from him.

The second is Sumiyoshi, your classmate and self-appointed best friend from the moment you move into town. He’s a good natured guy with all of the typical vices associated with eroge sidekicks, though none of the malice or social stupidity - he has a porn collection that he’s proud of but gets along well with the girls in your group of friends as an occasional punching bag and comedian. His parents run a small restaurant where you often gather with the rest of the gang, and depending on which girl you choose to pursue Sumiyoshi’s romantic interests may involve him more in the story than otherwise.

The third is your English teacher, whose name I don’t recall off the top of my head and who doesn’t play a huge role in the story other than to add a bit of flavor. He’s a very odd duck indeed and his English is some of the funniest stuff in the game, though he’s not completely crazy - you may find that he makes an ally of sorts depending on which scenario you pursue.

Not much (if any); the sample CG on the official game site provides a representative look at what the game has to offer in that regard.

Since D.O.'s parent company CD Bros entered its period of financial troubles circa 2005 they have greatly scaled back or eliminated activity on all of their brands, including D.O., Trabulance, Sekilala, Angel Smile, etc. ZyX alone has retained a relatively steady flow of releases over the past few years. With that said I think D.O. is a far cry from being out of business; if CD Bros has a title they think would be most suitable to release under the brand name I’m sure they would do so.

Yay I finally got an e-mail stating that it’s in the mail. Yay!

I got mail!!!

WOOT!!!

Yep, as you now know, Snow Sakura is officially in stock and shipping now - at a newly reduced price! Thanks to everyone who preordered, but it’s not to late to get your copy if you haven’t ordered yet.

Thanks - Sorry, I misjudged it from the Japanese demo, where both of the sample scenes were ‘invisi’ ones.

Ah… I can’t believe I didn’t know that CD Bros is the parent company for all those brands  - I think I can find the answers to any other questions once I play Snow Sakura :stuck_out_tongue: .

I got my confirmation email, gimme that main page update!
Anyway glad to see that we have a week to get the game before xmas, and i hope a good majority of us might get it before then, then again… Xmas week shipping is horrid…

Well I don’t live too far from San Diego so maybe it won’t take that long to get here.

Sumiyoshi does have his cool moments occasionally, but he’s much more of a clown that Tsubaki. A good character in his own right though, very much a “man of the people”. Despite his general loser aura he’s got a strong sense of justice, and in that sense he’s like Tsubaki (though his counsel tends to come in the form of fists rather than words).

Hmm, i just got the game, im about 2 hrs in, and i im already wikipedia’ing japanese history questions for a midterm? in the game, im not sure if it matters for the story, but i figure if you get em right, cant go wrong. (just my tip… wikipedia those questions)

Man your lucky I want my copy. Hope it gets here soon. I’ve been waiting to play it for so long.

Just finished my first playthrough.

I’m I missing something or is it like Snowdrop with the “miss one option=bad ending”.

It seemed I had to run through 3 or 4 times to get a decent run through and a “second half” part to the game.

Love the characters and artwork though, even if the story is not the greatest. Alot more comic relief than I expected.

Took prolly 5-6 hrs of play time to read and end the game with Souya’s good ending. I took Singo’s advice and took a wikipedia history lesson so i didnt miss the questions.
ill play through another time this week hopefully as i have to work now, but all in all i like the general feel of the game, reminds me of some old school games where it prides it self on the story and not so much on being with the girls in bed.

I dont know how hard the other girls endings are yet, but i hope i can play it some more this week.

I’ll be picking this up soon, though my play through may have to wait longer. I have a backlog from the past year.

I hope my game arrives soon.

I want my game!!! Order it awhile ago and yet no email saying it was shipped…so long as i get it before the 29th of this month. (going to vegas) Could pay you people a {visit} to get my game.

Enough of that for now. So what’s the next game on the list?

Yay I got my game today… but my pc sucks and once I get a job I’ll build a new one.

Argh I can’t solve these Japanese test questions, that’s why I need the guide. Shingo I pmed you about getting a guide, oh and sorry about double posting.

Got my game in time for Christmas, and I’ve already put in a couple of very late nights playing it, and I’m kind of buzzed right now. It’s really a great game. I like the characters (esp. Saki, who isn’t titless, at all) and it’s real easy to get caught up in their world. I haven’t figured out how to get Yujii laid yet, but then I’ve just been wandering thru the game, clicking this or that, just to see what happens. Here’s something that’s got me both excited by and frustrated over: the strip mah jong game and the drunken, almost-an-orgy study party. Both these scenes fade to black just when they start getting interesting. And what the hell is it with that Monkey Stab fruit. Why would Yujii’s father send him something like that for a party with a bunch of girls? (I have my suspicions.) Is this just a tease, or am I ever going to see something hot here? As for the cultural questions, there are clues to the right answers in other parts of the game. But forget about the cultural stuff. If there’s any lesson to be learned from this game, it’s to always have beer with Genghis Kahn.
