So how many here watch anime and read manga

Hmm…is it Konote wo Hanasanai by Miho Obana? Of the current crop of R1 dvds my favorite series are Ai Yori Aoshi, Rune Solder Louie, and Please Teacher.

I picked up Rune Soldier Louie on a whim and end up loving it. (And I really like the opening song for some reason.) Sigh, I may just have to bite the bullet and just subscribe to Newtype USA already. This month’s sample was from Angelic Layer. I really loved the manga and now I’m all excited about the anime!

... I think I'd rather want to see a couple of other endings; the endign where Takuya ends up with Makoto-chan and gets beat-up by his own daughter, the ending where a Natsuki comes to the inn and yells to poor Yamano "What!? You don't remember me!? You took my virginty!" and then greets him as a new worker of the inn . Or why not the ending where a Kumi-chan is laughing happily at a wedding.. ^_^.

Err, those endings wouldn’t work in a series because they are real endings that leave no room for each other.

… and if the series really should have one ending, it supposedly should be Ume-san’s! (Nah, just kidding! )

Of cause, you could make them all into OVA’s in the style of Marvel’s “What If!”-series…

I know that, Uni-kun .

However, I was saying that one of those would be the end I’d like for a TCI TV series/OVA to have . But of course, it’sd be even more great if an “What If!”-OVA series was made…

But Ume-san’s ending as the true end… Brrr! shivers from head to toe… what a frightening throught! 0_o

Well, I’m not hugely active here, but I’ll join in…

I’m very active in watching anime, but don’t read much manga at all. I only have about 15 manga total (although I’ve got some more in the post right now ). Anime on the other hand, I probably see 1/3 or 1/2 of the newly-released digisubbed anime that come out, and have watched thru a lot of full series in the past. But that’s all with friends - I do very little anime watching on my own. I even watch Popotan with a mate or two

And for a TCI anime, I’d vote for Natsuki’s or Makoto’s ending. Kumi’s is incredibly sweet, but probably so much so that it wouldn’t fit the style of the rest of the madcap series…

Maybe... you may right.

I will ask worker at Japanese bookstore about it.

Yeah Rune Soldier is one of the most underrated animes. The manga's a little more ecchi as Louie is more of a perv and the novels are supposedly even worse Yeah the dvd for newtype is the first ep of Angelic Layer, I love clamps work but I'm still not sold on Angelic Layer for some reason. Oh well it's not like there's a draught of stuff for me to get

Instead of making another thread (because I’m lazy) I’ll just go a little OT and ask has anyone gotten Megami magazine yet? Man there are some awesome posters in there. gotta love a magazine that has tons posters of cute anime girls and reviews bishoujo games and dvds all I need now it to have it translated into english.

Aw, come on. What's not to like when the first episode includes a guy getting an octopus down the pants? *blink* I so need a life...

No kidding. I'm having a bit of trouble keeping myself to only a few select series. I try to keep disciplined and to only pick up an additional series only after I finished another one but boy is it difficult...

I long ago gave up trying to limit myself to completing 1 before starting another Right now I just list my priorities Need now no matter what, I’ll get it on the next order, I may get it if it’s on sale, and finally only if the sale price blows my boots off

As much as I hate to say this, but Japanese workers know little to nothing about product. It's an exercise in futility to ask about products. In the 5 years I have never met one who does. I think the reason lies in the fact that Japanese culture doesn't lend itself to it. That is to say that the Japanese never ask questions about anything. They buy as-is and if they get shafted, oh well.

Best regards,

Heh, so far I've been good. I've even managed to fight the urge to start picking up other series that look interesting to me like Full Metal Panic and Sakura Wars. I'm still fudging things here and there. October 14th, the 5th volume of Ai Yori Aoshi is coming out (Which I believe is the last for this season) as well as Angelic Layer volume 1. I'll just have to make sure the cashier scans the Ai Yori Aoshi one first...

Yup that’s the last vol for season 1 of AYA. Season 2 should be comming out soon in Japan FMP is pretty, it’s got comedy, mechs, and some romance and it doesn’t hurt that the captain is a hottie

If I’m reading the Ai Yori Aoshi site correctly, the second season dvd comes out September 26th. That is, if I’m reading it correctly. :shrugs:

Hmm, I know CDJapan listed a sort of promo DVD for that date. (They also have a calender listed, which is very tempting...)

From what I read FMP sounded really interesting, though I only recently got around to watching the Newtype promo from awhile back. But now, I'm even more tempted. *Sigh* Looks like I'll have to work it into my schedule somehow...

And bringing back the subject of manga, I finally got ahold of Chobits #7 last night. (I just couldn't find it anywhere, and believe me, I looked hard!) Now that I've read it, I can see why that volume got gobbled up so quickly. Can't wait for the final volume, assuming I can find it somewhere!

And if your a collector then you might wanna try and get the LE chobits Vol8. which includes a chii figure.

Heh, of course I’m getting that one, then I can have Chi, May, and the To Heart Girls lined up around my computer!

Nice, this reminds me that I should stop by my waldens next week to see if I can preorder it.

Tried reading X, the manga by CLAMP, but it didn’t hold my interest. I got the anime so I’ll watch that. I’m going to start reading Ocean Waves 2 (e.g. Umi ga Kikoeru 2), when I track down a copy of the book. Reading novels in Japanese, that’s not an easy task…
