Yuri themed games

the answer we usually get on that subject is that supposedly there aren’t as many yuri games in japan as other things to start with, therefore it’s hard to find one they can bring here.

Is a pity.

As far as I can tell, it’s fairly common for typical guy-targeted games to have either pure yuri, or guy/girl/girl scenes with heavy yuri overtones – but rare to focus exclusively on such things. Most of the time they’ll throw in some straight scenes as well.

I guess they figure most guys are like “ooo, lesbians!” but aren’t into gay porn (which gets its own submarket).

I agree, it’s a pity. I want my lesbian strippers!

I dunno. I guess I’m far more exclusive, but I’d like some gayness to go with yuri if it was a guy/girl game, or at leats some gayness in the few otome games there are out there.

On an off-topic note, and this is a mere suggestion, maybe we should set up a thread where one count psoters can post all the games they want to see translated, no matter how far-fetched it is, placed in one thread. Then again, I ahve no idea how this BBS ssytem works. Maybe I’ll raise the question in the junkyard.

Common? You and I don’t play the same games!!! I’d rather say “pretty rare”.
I think the point is that if a girl is lesbian, then she wouldn’t be interested in guys, thus, not in the main protagonist, which would defeat the purpose of such games.
OTOH, most erogees aimed at girls that I know are BLGs so…

Though I haven’t played them, I would recommend the works of Fuguriya for what looks to be some quality Yuri-ai. Samples and purchase info are available at DLsite.

So that would explain why you and I don’t see eye to eye on The Faith. :stuck_out_tongue:

There have been some studies done showing that, supposedly, sexuality is much more likely to be binary for men (gay or straight, not much inbetween) than for women.

Now, if that’s so, it’s probably more likely that you could convince a professed lesbian to sleep with the right man (and enjoy it) than a professed gay man to fall for a woman.

Well a fundamental of the The Faith requires a willingness to share. So once they start to share everything, then that will mean EVERYTHING.

Hey… that gives me an idea… how about a game where one of the paths for the male protagonist is a lesbian… though I think that exists already.

Grab The Eternal Thread of DOOM if you want to do that (the one with about a hundred pages? yeah, that one). It’s not getting used for anything else …

Fine, let me be more precise. Games that DO have yuri scenes, are FAR more likely to be like I described – rather than be pure yuri.

Y’know, the way you said DOOM makes me want to sing Gir’s Doom Song (Doom, doom doom…)

Actually, my intention was to get those threads amde by these people to be merged into one thread (since msot of these posters tend to make only one post), but, sicne Lamuenss has pointed out that the means are available to him… Ah well.

You do have a point actually; I’m not sure how many true lesbian games there are in Japan, but, from the looks of it, there’d be far less Marimite-type yuri games than heaver, male-oriented yuri games. And I think we count the number of male-oriented harem games where there’s at least one fanservice yuri scene. You can even get those outside of b-games, coming to think about it.

Well off hand, Mediaworks - who used to cater to the niche groups during their peak - did Strawberry Panic as their “girls only” title.

It was no Sister Princess (sister complex) or Happy Lesson (sensei complex) in terms of marketing sales, but it did as good as Futakoi (twincest) and did better than Gunslinger Girl (loli complex) and Dear S (slave complex).

Take that as you will. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nargy, you’re starting to sound suspiciously like Myst-van !

And yeah… that is a thought, actually.

I have no idea what you’re talking about there pal. I just posted my thoughts on the topic.

LOLZ!!!

 :stuck_out_tongue:

from the first 2 days of AX at least, there were quite a few people (female attendees mostly at least) asking if we carry any yuri products…for the most part we have answered no…but after some careful thought…

isn’t raidy yuri? :stuck_out_tongue:

Clover Hearts? It’s absolutely not yuri, though.

I don’t know, you tell us; IS Raidy a “yuri” game? Dose Raidy get involved in any romantic relationships with any of the other female characters? Or is it simply a bunch of girls “lezzing out”?

Raidy is 100% “lezzing out”, but that’s the best we’re likely to get until Japanese makers start making authentic yuri games.

I’ll present this as an open challenge to the fan community: find a full-length yuri game produced in the past few years (female protagonist, majority of scenes female-only) and we’ll look into the licensing options. We know the demand is there; if you can find the supply we certainly will try to bridge the gap.

It won’t happen right away, but we’re definitely interested in adding one or more yuri titles to our future lineup.

This is an intriguing option… it seems the game isn’t in production or up for sale anymore, perhaps Liar Soft would be approachable on the subject. Getchu seems to have a pretty thorough look at the game, and it got largely favorable reviews on Erogamescape. Hmm.
