anime with strong finishes

AYA was a great show, but I think it lacked a good, solid ending. And the second season of AYA is called Ai Yori Aoshi: Enishi. It's twelve episodes long and it finished up it's original run in Japan and is now coming out in DVD. Currently, it's upto the third DVD and scheduled to be released in America on July 6th. The soundtrack is scheduled for the same day. Yes, I'm very upto the minute on Ai Yori Aoshi. Love that show.

Cool, thanks for this info, I knew it was suppose to be coming out eventually, but last I heard it was still airing in Japan, so I figured sometime late this year early next year. Gives me something to look forward to this summer.

Hmm, does anyone know if they’ll bring the promo DVD episode of AYA Enishi as well? Just curious…

MKR was sort of odd for me since I read the manga well before watching the anime. So I knew about the main plot twist and was able to spot all sorts of little clues and hints they sprinkled into the episodes. I think it made me appreciate the anime even more for some reason…

Promo episode? I know it is being sold with and without the artbox, but is the promo episdoe sort of like an OVA that explains or bridges the gap between the two seasons?

I just finished the first 26 episodes of Fushigi Yugi and have to say that while it’s a good series, the cliff-hanger ending isn’t satisfying. Luckily, I have the second season box set sitting on the shelf. I believe that one does reach a successful conclusion. There are still two OVA box sets after that. That part of the epic is supposed to be more self-contained.

Watching the full series takes a significant investment of time and money. Also, you may run into a backorder for some of the installments. I had to wait two months for RightStuf to ship the first season box and the first OVA set is still on order.

All in all, it’s a worthwhile anime, though much bloodier than I expected. I’ve lost count of the number of near fatal attacks Miaka suffers, and I understand that some of the other regulars are permanently eliminated before it’s over. The series’ comedy element doesn’t quite fit with all the violence.

I'm a big AYA fan. It's another series that I'm happy to go along with just for the ride because there is a lot of character development along the way. I eagerly await the Enishi release. I wonder if it will include the Christmas special that was a prequal to the series?

How long is that show? Might they release it as a movie or as a ‘special edition’ on it’s own DVD or is it just regular episode length?

If I remember correctly, it’s a short special. Which means, if they do include it, which they better, and it is highly likely, they might make it as an extra feature on the last DVD. Like with what they did with that five minute special in the first season series.

It's a 15-minute OVA that, as far as I know, hasn't been released anywhere yet. It would make a good extra for the Enishi box. There's a fan review here if you want more details.

Well since they don't charge you until it ships and usually when TSRI has a studio sale everything they have in stock sells out quickly I'd say you got a month or so leeway One of the reasons why I'm waiting till this week to put in my order

AYA enishi ended a while ago in japan. The people who bought the last R1 DVD of AYA got a little bonus at the end which was a message to expect AYA Enishi in early 2004 Guess July is somewhat early in 2004

Ekylo: The promo episode will be in one of the discs can't remember which one but I'm hoping for the one that's going to come out near christmas time since that espisode is christmas related The promo episode does not tie in the 2 series, it's timeline actually before the 1st episode, before Karou remet Aoi, when Karou just began college. I'm not spoiling any more

Christmas would make sense for the release I guess, but given that it would make sense, I’ll bet it gets released on the one (if there is a disc released around this time) mid-October. Hey why not, last year I saw Christmas decorations going up before Halloween. Good that they will include it though, and thanks for the info about it.

Thanks wanfu2k1-san. Don’t worry about spoiling much, I have a general idea what happens in the episode. Just wanted to make sure it was comming over. It would have been a shame if it didn’t.

Hey shop early!! You can still find X-mass stuff if you look hard.
I also found a copy of the song Sugar Baby Love on a CD today. The CD is
Midnight at the oasis, pop hits of the 70's
. More info can be found at http://www.brisa.com/.

blink I’m not even going to ask how you happen to run across that CD. I’m tempted to see if I can get it just so I can hear what the original song sounded like.

I walked into a store and there it was!
The CD is not the kind you would find in a
typical record store, but one that sells odd items.
They have changed the words of the song a good a bit, from the 70's version, but the feel of the music is still there.

Yay! I had a little more money left than I thought, so I was able to order the second MKR set

More Clamp goodness on the way. So many shows to watch… working my way through the original Macross now.

Origional Macross is a great series. I can't believe the awesome job Animego did in restoring the photage.

Macross is not MKR is it sort of like a different name? I thought those were two different shows?

He mentioned Clamp, then how much stuff he had to watch in general. I think Macross fell under the "general" category of "i'm so busy".
