Before Dawn Daybreak - NEW Black cyc game !!!!!!!!

Hmm, I’m not quite sure if all of those titles will be upcoming, at least not in the near future. I certainly can’t see Black Cyc putting up Mugen Kairou 2 or Cthulhu for another couple of years, plus some brands such as PULLTOP seem to be using Gyutto only as a mirror site for OPs/demos, as they’ve never put any of their eroges up for dl sales before, and none of their games on there have any prices for future sales listed next to them.

Narg’s confusion comes from the fact that Gyut.to is not just a DL sales site; they’re a generic eroge sales + catalogue site (like getchu) that offers a number of titles for DL sales.

Aye. My bad.

CG update for Cthulhu. Also, EXTRAVAGANZA is on gyutto etc.

Site for White Cyc’s Nadeshiko Ranbu is open. Two out of the three writers are unknowns and the artists are a bit of a mixed bunch (one has worked on 2 Norn games + and BALDR SKY Core Defender - surely they can do a bit better than that). Most importantly, the plot suggests it’s a run of the mill haremesque story, and since it’s White Cyc, strong pass, unless EGS tells me otherwise.

Woot! The player’s character can turn into a Tentacle Eldritch Horror¬ô !!!

Also bonus points for confirmation that the sister is incestuous.

Da-yamn!

Come to think of it, that means the protagonist is probably the tentacles in this CG.

I’m constantly wondering what kind of gameplay this title will have - thus if it will be another insane hard to see everything without a walkthru - seeing how BCyc likes to experiment and invent new things.

Trial is out.

Downloading now. Any info on how long this is?

A little under an hour.

Think Tsui no Sora meets EXTRAVAGANZA meets 11eyes =P

EDIT: also heterochromia twins

Ok, cleared it. Took me a bit over an hour, although it’s not a particularly easy game to read. That figure would also be higher if the voices were in place, as I skimmed through some of the fight scenes, knowing that I’d replay them later and enjoy them more once the voiced trial/full version comes out.

It’s very hard to draw any conclusions from the trial, especially when it might not necessarily be in order/certain segments may be cut out (in fact, Chapter 1 and 2 were so short in the trial (10-15 minutes each, or something like that), that a fair bit of the text has to be missing). I can say for sure that, 1) The music is a real disappointment. It’s just average overall, some good tracks mixed in with a lot of fairly uninteresting ones. 2) Probably doesn’t need to be said, but the other elements appear to be strong to very strong. 3) Without the voices, certain segments don’t work at all + others like the battle scenes are hard to evaluate. Hopefully they get the casting choices right. 4) The system/decision points appears to be along light/dark paths represented by a balance scale, although it only appeared right at the end of the trial. I’m guessing it’ll affect the overall story branches at some stage, as well as the ero-scenes. 5) The writing style’s very similar to MK2’s from the daily life segments and some of the character portrayals to the ero-scenes, with even more furigana/ruby abuse. Although the writer’s obviously better at certain types of scenes and situations than others, there’s certainly nothing to complain about. At this stage, it’s very hard to predict how the scenario will turn out as the story is rather fragmented (flashbacks/foreshadowing etc.), and a lot of the cast hasn’t appeared or has only had a small amount of screentime. 6) (goes without saying) Lots of tentacles, although the game is absolutely nothing like any of Black Cyc’s earlier tentacle games (or for that matter, anything else I’ve seen).

One of the BGM themes is really, really annoying (the one right before the main character wakes up at the beginning). Apart from this, the game looks fairly promising - I would have liked to hear characters’ voices, though.

I thought the blonde girl would be the main antagonist, but apparently that’s not the case.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!

I don’t know what it is about BCyc loving twincest, but I hope it never stops. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sidenote: My trap warning is going off for some reason. BCyc likes the traps… and one of them could be it, given the rise to twincest traps I’ve seen here and there.

This. Sucks. I mean it’s the god damned New Wave Of Death Neko Metal (cue lights from Heaven and angels singing). WTF happened? BCyc is known for awesome BGM. I hate it when they drop the ball and ruin that reputation. :frowning:

EDIT
Incorrect link.

They’re also known for playing dreadful uninspired loops during H scenes, but yeah, generally BCyc music is much better. My assumption, at the moment, is that (some of) the BGM tracks are temporary.

Your suspicions are well-founded. One of them is in fact male. How can you tell? Look for the arrow pointing to his right pinned on the RIGHT side of his hair. Also, each of the twins’ blue eye is always on the same side as the arrow. The clue in telling them apart is in their names

Migihiko: Kanji for RIGHT is included (He would be Righty)
Hidariko: Kanji for LEFT (I could call her Lefty if I had to)

Also, the link in your original post leads to the wrong profile. I corrected it in the quote.

lol… knew it…

I learned to stop reading character descriptions on the BCyc site, ever since Gun-Katana, so I just snatch a glimpse at the page and try not to look at text. They have a habit of putting spoilers in them (see Gun-Katana). But I knew something was just weird how the pair looked. It was suspicious. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks. Fixed it.

Forgot to mention that Gun Katana is up on Gyutto. Rather surprising, as it seemsa bit too high quality to be put up for dlsales less than two and a half years after the original release…

I’m curious about that theme as well. It seems to be both a BGM track and a ‘sound effect’ (maybe ‘leitmotif’ might be more accurate), as it gets overlaid with the BGM in places to represent when various otherwordly events are occuring (someone more familiar with the Cthulhu mythos might have a better idea of what this represents or refers too). Definitely agreed though that it’s annoying, to the point of being ‘atmosphere-breaking’.

MK2 only had a relatively small amount of BGM but there were no duds amongst them, and most tracks were excellent. What’s odd is that the music that Cthulhu requires for battle scenes and the like seems to be even more suited to their style, and yet the music for those scenes is a bit too unmelodic and generic, and consequently dull to listen to. In this case, it’s certainly not on the level of say Propeller’s BGM.

Got time to play the demo. Impressed and not so impressed at the same time, for the same reasons others have mentioned previously. Music is more horrible than I imagined it to be. Not liking this. Hoping it’s replaced - but I suspect that it’s not (judging from past BCyc demos). However I could always mute the music if needed… so it won’t stop me from getting the game. Just… sadden that it’s going to be so… blah…

I believe the ero industry is in a slump: with the failing economy and piracy issues. Plus sometimes titles sell more copies via digital download than they do via retail packaging. I suspect that B-eye (Cyc’s parent company) is going with the flow, rather than fighting it.

I honestly can’t see Cyc being in dire straights, if they’re still making White and Rainbow Cyc titles. It’s like someone at the studio, wants to make a successful “not evil” kind of game. I wish they’d stop… Cyc works best as a spawn of the Devil. They should stop fighting their destiny.

I am sorta surprised that Rose Cyc is still inactive though. One of their best games came from that branch. Also the vanilla Cyc brand has been quiet for a few years now. I wonder if it’s just inactive or has been brewing something big.

Has anyone here played any of the games from the MIO part of Cyc? Are they any good?
