G-collection's Site Change

Nice your Aesop fable, perigee… now go and read Molitar post…

And sorry to burst your bubble over Aesop and “how they can’t get that grape”, but they are waiting for a game to be released before attempt any cracking.

That means Curator’s post has actually some sense.

Ita

i hope you stop it with :cracking: phrase. it’s getting very old

Personally, I’m not interested in G-C anymore, they’re history for me; I’m only reporting what i heard and read on the Net just for someone else personal interest. And if what they said is going to happen, you can bet i’ll sing “Gloria” only because this will prove i was right and for my personal satisfaction.

No more a cent will come out from my pockets for G-C, cracked or not cracked, because
I’ve just received my Japanese grammar and text books.

EDIT: the Molitar post seems interesting. Take a look… http://princess.cybrmall.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002089.html

I’m a huge anti-game download person. I want the boxart and a manual. I want to be able to hold the game data in my hands. Paying for virtual data is stupid.

Here, Here. From what I've been reading about that accursed VirtualMate, its more trouble than its worth. Forget G-Collections. *sigh* now the industry is sure to die.

Why? G-Collections doesn’t represent the entire industry. We still have Peach Princess!
And to a lesser extent, Hirameki.

More trouble than it’s worth? Not if you’re a happy broadbander. And you shouldn’t sell your games anyway.

I never sold out my used games for money, because i read the EULA. Another pair of shoes is to purchase them. Instead, i barted my used ones, and this not to sell...
Try to sue me now.
With V_Mate this is no more possible. Another minus for this sistem.

You know, I was REALLY hoping for a juicy story. Fleeing INS (now CIS?) is sorta disappointing. . . but not unheard of. So I gather you're flagged in U.S. databases, and can't return to the country?

It appears that VMate was a prelude to introducing this system for online downloads. This probably means VMate is here for the long haul, as long as it's going to be (I really have to question how long GC will be around).

Well online downloads isn't anything new. JAST had it for the hentai poker upgrades. What VM does is facilitate the downloading of LEGITIMATELY purchased software, rather than the illegal stuff floating around. Does it mean NA customers will get online downloads any time soon? probably not (b/c they would then have to offer lower prices (again) for downloads).

Never had a trip to US, and probably i'll never be able to do so because i'm communist and flagged too.

My guess is that they are going to implement current English games as they run out of stock, so they won't have to print more of them if they sell out. As for future releases, I guess that will depend on how well it works with the games already available. IF it works out alright, downloadable games will likely be cheaper than straight V-Mate games. Without the expenses of printing CDs, boxes, the manpower needed for handling shipping etc, the price could drop even more.

I'm kind of curious, will this affect their business relationship with other companies that sell their products (like J-List/PP)? I much doubt they'll go away from CDs completely, as a lot of people don't have the bandwith required to download games in a timely fashion.[B]

Great observations. Not having to go through printing will certainly save GC a bundle in production costs. And naturally a portion of that savings will be passed on to customers.

The effect on the distributors/retailers is kinda interesting. I'm not 100% clear on WHAT version is being offered for downloads. I assume that GC is offering its English translated material for download, rather than say a Chinese version (i.e. Japanese translated into Chinese rather than English). I can't imagine J-List, etc. are selling that many copies of GC's English translated games in Asia. So to that extent, the effect of of GC offering downloads should be minimal.

However, if GC starts offering its new titles as downloads, then a lot of retailers will be unhappy about it, and may even stop selling GC products on the retail side.

Interesting point, Ecchifan.

The Department of Homeland Security is trying to upgrade its databases and allow the information from all previously separated agencies (INS, FBI, i.e.) to merge into a single database. And so when you're at the airport, your name will go through the computer and if there is something "bad" about your background, you will be flagged and NOT allowed to enter into the U.S. The flag could be placed for any reason, however stupid, erroneous, etc. If Papillion fled the U.S. illegally to avoid an arrest warrant, for example, then she would be flagged if she tries to re-enter the U.S.

Yep. For a while, I thought perigee and Unicorn were ladies too (perigee because I confused him with papillon, and Unicorn because of My Little Pony ).

G-collections isn't offering any English games for download at this point. They're offering Japanese and Chinese games.

Quote on the description for Kana download: This downloadable game is in Japanese! You must use Japanese OS.

The Chinese games used to say the same (except with Chinese), but now the links to the games are broken for some reason.

Other users have told us that the Japanese/Chinese descriptions mentioned Virtual-Mate, as well.

That’s considering a valuable part of pirates is from Asia, and they are trying to make them stop by offering their titles in a palatable form. But i seriously doubt it’ll work. I know plenty of forums stuffed with Koreans and Taiwanese downloading at full speed…

@ papillon

Truly sorry for being rude with you sometimes. I apologize now . Soowwwyyy…

can’t the above post be considered sexual discrimination?

Sexual discrimination a couple of broken shoes!!!

A man must be kind with women. So i was apologizing for being rude on previous posts.

I think you’re searching for the hair in the egg, Teagan.

So stop looking for free provocations and retreat your insult, please.

Ding ding! That is correct! However, Italicus isn't alone on this one. "Putting women on a pedestal" is a worldwide phenomenon, and not necessarily a flattering one, either. I try to avoid it, myself. It can be hard though, bred into us by society as it is.

Not to bring us any more off-topic...but my father is always saying that "those Japanese are the worst about pirating!" Is there any truth to this statement? I always tell him he must be thinking of the Koreans and Taiwanese...AFAIK, Japanese culture is by nature resistant to piracy, being both collectivist and very formal. American culture would seem to me the most likely to breed piracy, since we're highly individualistic and very anti-big-business. We also like to carry our freedoms on our shoulder, bludgeoning those that stand in our way with "I can say or do anything I want! It's a FREE COUNTRY!" Oh boy, and I had to experience that too many times.
For example, if you slap a girl, everyone goes "Ooh, did you see that?! The bastard! How can he slap a girl!!!"
If you slap a boy, no one cares.
If a GIRL slaps a BOY, no one cares!

What the fuck is wrong with this society! EQUAL RIGHTS, NOW!

EDIT: I'm NOT saying you should be able to slap a girl, don't misunderstand. But I'm pissed at the difference presented here that I see almost every day.
