Have some XChange3's scenes been censored in the englis

So, a total of 9 CG are different from the japanese version. 7 CG’s are themissing Lipp scene while the other 2 are modified CG’s from Ayano’s rape scene. The game has a total of 250 CG’s not including the portraits of the characters (in the japanese version), So 3.6% of the game has been changed, not 0.26% (something like that), like it was stated before.
PS: I have no problem with playing games that contain lolicon

So No scrips Altered?

Just wondering…(since the CG’s were screwed around with, wouldn’t the script be changed?)

I’ll just look for the CG’s on google if they’re missing. >.>

The Ayano rape scene was not removed. The tears and blood on the CG were. You would have known this if you read the thread first.

Virtual-Mate didn’t destroy it at all. The mother company was having unrelated problems, and then they asked Peter if he could take G-Collections over.

Peach Princess releases more than X-Change, you know. Their catalogue is diverse. Recently, there was Doushin. Back at the end of 2003, we got Brave Soul.

Yes, we all hate 4Kids.

I understand removing Lipp but the rape scene edit is just unnecessary. I know it’s just a small edit, which makes it espeacially unnecessary in my opinion.

the rape scenes in any game disturb me but they rape scene with ayano-chan really bothered me because she was a really likeable character and i hated turning her lez!

Ummm… I don’t want to add fuel to the fire but I have a question. If the Ayano scene had to be edited because of new laws or whatever, how does this affect the chances of new “dark” themed games?

Maybe I’m a little behind on the news (been reading this board for a couple years, but not constantly) but exactly WHY did the scene with Lipp have to be removed? And you can still get Jewel Knights elsewhere, so it seems to be Peach Princess et. al that seems to have been cowed by something.

Personally, I side with a good portion of the people on the forum when they say that any censoring is wrong. Yes, I understand the reasoning behind it, but I still disagree.

Officially they were removed probably because of legal reasons for various companies. However since it’s a matter of just editing out the pictures (unlike the rape scene where dialogue is actually changed), I don’t know why PP couldn’t have released different versions for those countries. Other companies do that.

FE: Hearts of Iron 2 removes the Swastika and all referances to Nazi Germany from its German release of the game, much more complex editing that simply turning off pics.

They had to change the dialouge in the Lipp scene too to accomodate for her absence.

Ok. But still, that would require a bit more work, but not as much as some other localization editing i’ve seen other small game companies do.

…Legal reasons for various companies? If that was the case, and it really was out of their control, I would think they wouldn’t have to justify their actions the way they did. Or remove a completely different game from their website.

If it was some kind of lolicon being ruled illegal reason, again I could understand. But again, since they didn’t use that as the reason, I can only feel like they’re trying to decieve us.

Really, it seems more like it was done for personal reasons.

Well, hopefully this sort of thing doesn’t happen in the future. I still bought the game to support the genre, but if this sort of thing keeps happening I may have to withdraw my support.

I’ve been following the discussions. I apologise again for not signaling that there would be some changes to the game, and in the future I promise that I will leave notes here if changes are going to be made. On the other hand, we had no choice, and I hope that we can count on the understanding of fans on this one. Well, the choice was make some changes to some of the graphics, or don’t release the game.

The issue is that “nothing” is illegal in the U.S., and yet “everything” potentially is. It’s all a grey area, which is how it’s set up, to create maximum FUD. We are always concerned about the direction of the so-called reasonable countries like the U.S. as things progress politically. We all know that these games are harmless fun, but still, in order that we can continue to bring you games you will enjoy in the future, we have to be realistic about things sometimes.

Really, there was no way we could leave that segment in the game. Again, I apologize for not mentioning it here.

What about the other segment?

Lipp scenes in the game were going to make this game unavailable here - Italy - for sure. Not that i really care about X-Change or Kango series…

Works out fine then since we don’t care about Italy.

I guess then no chance of releasing a patch to deconsorize it for those who want it?

Points to my post at the beginning of the second page

Why not? There’s plenty of loli stuff available in the West. It sounds to me like you’re being overly paranoid about some soccer moms somehow playing the game and finding about the scene and getting some local court to find you guilty of kiddie porn. I can somewhat understand your fear as despite the US Supreme Court ruling in Ashcroft v. Free Speech Coalition that basically makes lolicon legal in the U.S., you probably wouldn’t want to or couldn’t pay the legal fees to fight such an accusation in court. But really, just do like I suggested and change her age or make her an android or something (changing the story a bit would’t be as bad as removing a whole scene). And if you’re worried about Canadian laws (where lolicon’s legality might not be so legal), just don’t ship this game to Canada.

I can understand your dilemma, but my stance remains the same (heck, I’ve even learned Japanese -and English too- exactly because of those “soccer moms” at home interfering with my choices of fun).
My usual advice is that you strictly stick to those erogames entirely “acceptable” for Western laws ONLY (therefore, I suppose, this also means that I will need to buy this in Japanese -and mosaiced too, hmph…-).

I wouldn’t mind if the “offending” content was left in and accessible to those with a little computer know-how (like the Hot Coffee thing, only easier).

It would be a wussy position to take, but since they’re removing the scenes because they don’t want to get sued, I guess it would be acceptable if it let the games come out over here.

Hello,
I havent visited this forum in quite a while, tho I have been active in the past in terms of buying up lots of bishoujo games.

Summary:
Am I to understand that PP and G-collections, etc’s Policy on Loli themed characters has changed?
That while it was once acceptable (Jewel Knight Crusader’s for example) it is no longer?

Could Peter please provide a summarial confirmation of this? this is all new to me upon reading this thread.

Anyhow, if that is unfortunatly true…
Then it would seem I no longer have a reason to buy any more games.
My only motive to date, was to support games that included one or two token loli side characters(barely satisified) with the hope of one day a full themed game such as (Akiba de Ocha Shiyo for example) might be realized.
