Large update about future releases from MangaGamer

If this is going to become their standard policy, then I will totally start getting their stuff (presuming I have enough money to spare).

if they do this for koihime muso i will buy it

according to what i’v read it has no DRM.

Also, found another store with them, along with Kira-Kira.

These are cheaper

Good to see they’re working on the problem with a lack of physical product. Maybe they can even get J-List to stock their stuff.

Big long interview here: http://visualnovelaer.wordpress.com/201 … gamer-com/

Some really choice bits in it about fan translation … For example, the fact that Type-Moon and Key would be rater difficult to do, given how they’ve gotten heavy fan translation attention. (And before someone jumps on me for saying fan translations hurt the market, this is NOT my words, it’s Mangagamer’s more-or-less official word.)

Ehh, why not? Jump on board, license Mahoyo and get access to the script to start translating it before it even comes out. Let’s see the fan translators beat you to it then.

Then wait 10 years for Nasu to write something new.

No need to wait. There’s plenty of other eroge (and non-ero VNs) around in the meantime.

Like SubaHibi -wink- and Supreme candy -wink- or Saihate no ima -wink-

And they rip off everyone outside the states by adding an extra $10 to the price

Sorry but I’m not going to pay an extra ¬£10 for a hard copy

Uh, guys you can get the physical copy alot cheaper here, Kouryu even recomended this site over Himeya:

Mangagamer.

Actually, no. No Name Losers. For a brief while, Minori’s website actually had a link to NNL.

I’m surprised; NNL was the group that got C&D’ed from working on Minori games, then blanked out their website and said they were negotiating with Minori. I was not expecting the negotiations to actually work.

Although that flag on the map might be where Mangagamer is based (I forget); maybe NNL and Minori are both working with Mangagamer to get the game out in the same way Jast is working with fan translators of Nitroplus stuff?

Mangagamer is based in the Netherlands, so the flag positioning lines up. Also, Kouryuu has been dropping hints on the MG staff blog, some of which are lines from minori games.

Yes, that’s the Dutch flag, although the reality is that MangaGamer is actually managed out of Japan (the Dutch side hosts the servers and handles payment), despite the official status.

Neither minori nor NNL are equipped to handle distribution and payment, so a third party like MangaGamer is needed.

Same here. At any rate, NNL claims to be a division of minori now, so they may well have been acquired as an official overseas outfit.

Hmm, it could be a good thing. I’m not sure I can forgive them for using Miyako on the front page though.

Hendane rep says they are trying to sell and physical copies of 18+ titles as well as yaoi stuff

koryu made a new post hinting at a new game

I don’t get how you got such an optimistic conclusion from his post…

Weird. The clues hint at ef but that’s not a game I’d be expecting.
