One way of viewing all this is the Japanese tradition of ?? tatemae and ?? honne, which are, the way we all pretend things to be, and the way they actually are. In the U.S., a work will really be okay as long as it can be demonstrated to have actual cultural, literary or other social value. While not every H-game is a Picasso, they clearly have artistic merit as a genre overall.
Spot on Peter - the amount of art talent (and effort) which goes into games, anime, manga throughout the entire industry is truly undervalued, even if some content does not appeal to everyone. If art is to be perceived as both a reflection of society and more importantly as a mirror to hold up to ourselves when we view it, the controversy surrounding games says more about the immaturity of society than anything else.
Nitroplus - Full Metal Daemon Muramasa
I would love to see more Nitroplus titles. My experience with the ones localized so far has been nothing but positive and since JAST has a partnership with them. I can foresee more VNs from Nitroplus being released in the future.
I also heard that Utawarerumono has a similar type of strategy gameplay to Aselia the Eternal. I know its harder to do RPG/ Visual Novel hybrids, but it would be awesome to have more games with gameplay like Aselia.
First time ever that I may get a hand in seeing some of my favorite gems might see the light of day through Jast. Here's hoping my picks won't cause too big a fuse.
