Speaking of American Animated Shows, I have to admit I like Di$ney’s Kim Possible.
If you haven’t seen it, take a look and see what you think of it. It’s basically an action adventure teen comedy, but IMHO its a little hipper than most of the stuff that’s come out of the house of Mouse TV wise.
well, then i was fooled, probably because i have met people this wacked out before, so it didn’t seem too much of an impossibility to me…the fact that i know people this wacked out is probably scarier than the petition itself

So was I, but then here is a real scary link from 2001. Jan, 2001 - Comic Store Clerk Tried For Selling an "Obscene" Manga ... To An ADULT! http://www.sempai.org/news/index.html

This is what gives it away for me:
" 1) Ah My Goddess: A sick and disgusting show which causes children under the age of 18 to think they are capable of love. The main female character is clearly under 18, and is forced into a romantic relationship by an older man who "wishes" for her to be his girlfriend forever. "
First, that first sentence is ridiculous. The age of consent in most states is 16. Therefore it stands to reason that even if one makes the outlandish assumption that someone under the age of consent is incapable of falling in love without exception, this is still obviously untrue.
Second, the author obviously knows something about Oh My Goddess if he was able to describe what what's-his-name wished for in that level of detail. Then he must have known that Belldandy does not in any way look under 18. He also must have known that Belldandy is older than what's-his-name and that she loves him. All these facts are readily apparent from the show itself, and if he had simply read a brief summary or browsed some web pages about the show to get the information (i.e. if he fudged his 'research'), gleaning enough information to write this would have given him enough information to correct these misconceptions.
As I see it, this is one of two things:
1) A modest proposal (you know what I mean), or 2) Some idiot writing things he knows to be false just to be inflammatory (i.e. a troll)

Besides the currently running flood of german manga-translations, there were also a lot of french (and, I am not sure, but I think there were also italian) translations, not only of regular mangas, but also of dojinshis.

I wonder if the doujinshi translations are legit...I know for the most part mangas are (I know Aoi Nanase's Angel Dust is being translated to various European languages, but not english, hmm I wonder why), but doujinshis...I wonder...

care for some hide and seek? we didn't put the carpet over him; he crawled right under (and into) it
I've felt like doing that a couple of times. Can't find a carpet big enough to hide under though...
Nacht überm Land. Nacht und tosende Gewitternot! Taghell ein Brandt! Blitze zucken!
- schreit: "O mai, is des a Weder!"

Damn that’s a pretty long french list but I do know there’s a bunch of chinese tranlsated manga, along with a fairly large italian catalog too. Seems English is one of the languages that doesn’t have that many manga translated yet. Hopefully the new rajin comics and english shonen jump will bring alot more english translated manga to the states.
As for the petition…Man I love reading the comments that people write. That’s the best part of petitionsonline heh reading the comments ppl write

I do believe there will eventually be an anime channel. I think it's inevitable, it just takes time. Remember that before we get an anime channel, it has to reach enough saturation that it really needs its own channel. With stations like Fox and Cartoon Network still being able to acquire shows, it will take a lot more market penetration before anime is able to sustain its own channel, especially since subs probably won't get broadcast which alienates most of your hardcore audience right there.
