Refresh my memory, Lamuness...

Quite right.

I think, that’s why “?” is called the “question mark”, after all…

I think he may have been asking to clarify the joke in the link woodelf posted about Bill Gates in hell, even though he wasn’t really asking, but was stating more of a… statement. That was redundant…

Well, besides wondering exactly what is the subject of your summer book...

...the main question that comes to mind is, can you wear it in water? Or is the gel water-soluable? And can I convince any of my female friends to wear it?

I meant that joke.
And yes, there’s no question mark, but I expected someone to explain it to me…

That looks like an excellent new fashion trend, think I have to start going to the beach more in the summer.

I have learned that unless you go out of your way to make something so clear that an outsider would know at once what you are asking for, you should not expect people to just know what is wanted and do it.

I don't know how women would feel about glueing fabric to their body. I mean, what if you accidentally put on too much,and it has overflow and you glue your arm to your side? You'd look like Frankenstein or something walking around.

Well you could use Body Paint.

If women already feel comfortable with horrible stuff like piercings, then why not this?

And I still don’t understand the joke.
COULD SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN IT TO ME?

Not only women such strange things to themselves. Even so it might fail because eventually they will reach something that will start as promising as the Edsel in the eyes of the creators and flop like it too, so far not sure how much of that has happened with stuff like this, but it will eventually.

Could you repeat the joke? Sorry I honestly do not even remember it at this point.

I've been thinking about this for awhile, and I'm not clear on just one little thing. What does it mean? I just have no idea what you're trying to say.

:P

::hides::

::eegh::

Well, I just got back from ACen. Staffed the convention again this year; it was great fun, but I wish I could have gotten Monday off.

Well, I won’t be around for at least a few days. The union at SBC is going to strike. I gotta haul ass to Michigan. The union says they’re going to go back to work Tuesday, but we’ll see what happens. I will be off in the wild blue yonder until further notice.

It has to do with the fact that Microsoft, and most other companies, often do demos that (except for one famous case) tend to be nice, shiny and fantastic, but when the real product comes up, it's more than a little short. That's because demos are generally used to sell products, and as such, will gloss over or avoid showing known bugs with them. They are tightly controlled and tested presentations, usually not real working environments and don't account for all the silly things users are capable of that will cause problems. Sometimes they'll even show features that don't really exist. (One product demo I was at said that a particular feature would be included in the next release of the product. It's been 5 years and 3 releases later and said feature still hasn't shown up.)

So the joke here is that Bill Gates was shown the nice, shiny version of hell but the actual product was quite different.

Ahh, I completely understand now.
Thank you very much, ekylo!

And if I may ask, what was the famous demo that was accurate?

Hey, have you guys noticed that JList put temporary censors on their adult pics? How long ago were they forced to do that?

I wonder how long it took them to censor all their pics too.

Not sure, I just noticed it last night as well, something about the credit card processing company demanding they do that to the pictures.

Why now though, did they go to a new processing company, or did the processing company change the person in charge? Also isn’t J-List based in San Diego at least part of it? If so I think if the processing company is forcing this they are violating the First Amendment. Seriously a while ago the Supreme Court of the United States said that nudity and such pictures were protected by the First Amendment and it was unlawful for anyone to require them censored or did I misinterpt that ruling? Yes age warnings might be needed but so long as they are in place even in a publically accessable area no one can force the pictures censored or so I thought the ruling indicated.

Anyway, any clue how long they will remain so? They so far are the only one Peach Princess is not censored yet nor is Jastusa, not that I am complaining but why is only J-List being targted?

Sorry, took awhile to find a link:
http://www.cnn.com/TECH/computing/9804/20/gates.comdex/

The censors were added just last week. I can't remember exactly when though. It was mentioned in one of the updates.

Her given name is actually Michiko. There are also variations like Michihiko and Michko, so "Miko" is quite common. I jokingly refer to her as my "cat" or "shrine maiden".

We enjoyed beautiful weather on Kauai. It only rained once in two weeks (very unusual for the North Shore). May is a great month to visit Hawaii - mild temperatures, fewer tourists. The evenings were perfect for strolling the beach in yukata. My only problem is she wants to visit Gold Coast (Australia) next. The airfare is about 5x that for Hawaii. Ah, the cost of a long distance romance.
