Normally I don't mind if it's a romanization difference, but if it's just to "americanize" the series then I get upset enough where I won't buy the series at all.

With that I can agree, to romanization difference I guess is not too bad of a change but to "americanize" the name sounds almost well egotistical, or at least it does in my way of thinking.

In this case I am not sure, it might sound like more of an 'adult' name but that might just be my cultural ignorance showing that I do not think the other name is truly an adult name but more of a nickname.

That is something I was highly concerned about with this, I feared it would be something that people not sure of the games would be lost while watching, but there were enough reviews that said it was excellent that I was not sure which way it fell.

Well I actually bought it more because they came with a lot of pencil boards Heh damn I’m such a sucker for LE items.

Anyone seen Green Green? It’s a 12 episode romantic comedy TV show with heavy focus on the perverted. Sick. Twisted. With cute girls. And naturally, I’m loving it

It was a bishojo game in a previous life, which really makes me want to play it.

What was not a bishojo game in a previous life. Remind me about again in a few years when I can get it in english.

Note to self ... save $72 for The world of NARUE for April of this year.

What is The World Of NARUE based on or about? Also what is a pencil board actually used for or is the answer in the question?

I have no idea what the 'mini' pencil boards are used for? I seem to collect them with my DVD's like Chobits too. The world of NARUE looks to be a cute alien girl anime.

For more info and and a short quick-time demo.

It’s a mahou kanojo show. It’s cute, mainly because there really is character development and stuff actually does happen. Plus it helps that the main characters are cute and a good match. The first episode is kind of weak, but the second one is the one that got me hooked.

This does look like very cool anime and a theme that I find interesting. Thank you for the link, it is released or will be this year too which is cool! Any place taking pre-orders yet?

The right stuff is taking pre-orders.

The pencil-boards (shitajiki?) are used, in theory, to be placed in a notebook, in between the page you are writing on, and the rest of the book, so you don’t make an impression on the other pages. Most people just collect them for the novelty or art though.

Cool thanks, yeah I just found it there, but I think their search engine is messing up tonight, I had to link to the preorder page from google, rightstuf kept coming up empty for me which is what lead me to ask about the preorders.

It's always nice to get a tip on a good upcoming anime before it's release, and nice to have the time to save for the eventual credit card charge. Thanks for the tip woodelf.

About the pencil boards, I would think that they would be too nice to use and have impression marks on them. They are cool collectors items and I have a few from various DVD orders.

Actually with Rightstuf's studio sale right now which will end on sunday I think you can get world of narue for about $42 I'm gonna be placing an order as soon as I figure out exactly what I need from CPM/anime 18

In theory doesn't always means in practice besides they are too nice looking to be used as notebook backing I just usually collect the ones that come with dvds.

And world of narue is a pretty good show with decent character designs. It was pretty popular as Megami magazine used to have posters of the girls in their mags

They probably started out as functional boards way back when. Then they just became collectibles, sort of like lunch pails or something…

I’m trying to remember why Green Green sounds so familiar. That’s going to bother me for awhile now…

Yeah, I don’t know if anyone actually uses pencil boards… they are nice to collect though.

There was also a Green Green OAV… which was extremely low-brow, from what I’ve heard

Anyway, I am ordering World of Narue… I’ve heard decent things about, cute girls are always good, and I’m all about series being released right away as complete boxes. Still waiting for that Zeta Gundam one…

Last night I was able to order The World of Narue, did not get the 42 discount but somehow got it down to 50 with shipping. Anyway I agree it would be nice if more came out being in complete boxed sets from the start, but there is something to be said I guess for waiting for the next episode, sort of a quasi-verison of waiting a week to see the next show.

Here's ashort feature on Green Green. I'm hoping a US distibutor picks this one up in the near future, but it is extremely ecchi (probably on a par with Ping Pong Club) and, in some cases, very wrong

Hmm, thanks for the link. The images and the storyline aren’t ringing any bells, but that name still sounds familiar. I may have to dig through some of my old magazines. Someone probably just made a side reference to it and it stuck in my head for some reason.

Actually, I prefered the OVAs, if only because the characters are truer to the game. Am playing the game right now.
The TV series is 0.1% the quality of the game.
