So how many here watch anime and read manga

Have we perhaps gotten a little spoiled though? It’s funny, it is not a huge issue I know but we notice and worry about sound like that when what maybe as recently as 5 years ago these anime might not even have been brought over? Just something I think is slightly amusing.

I will check the way you mentioned though thank you.

shrug That’s how people are. I mean, they’re like that with bishoujo games as well.

Oooh, Comic Party Vol #1 finally came in yesterday. Loved the little “mini” as well. Still need to finish going through all the extra material though…

I got mine yesterday too. You have to watch the interview. It's funny as hell. Well, to me anyway. The show's not too bad, kindof mad it's only three episodes a DVD, though.

Woo hoo that makes 3 of us who got CP in the mail yesterday I only was able to watch the first episode but I love it already. Hahha the beginnig scene is great if your a leaf fan. Heh and I love mizuki at the end of the day I hear it’s really that much of a madhouse in those doujin conventions. Hey so did you just like the plastic slipcover? It’s cool but I think I’m gonna wear out the pictures as I keep putting it on and taking it off the box

Oh my. I did watch the interview last night. That was hilarious. And I was more surprised than mad at their only being three episodes since the thing listed a time count of something like 115 minutes. *shrug*

I've been leaving the plastic slipcover off. I'll probably leave it that way until I have all the volumes. I mean, yeah, it's great looking but I'm also worried about the wear and tear on it if I keep fiddling with it.

Yeah I know, but it's something to consider anyway, especially with the games. That we continually expect new and perfection or at least what is advertsied.

My favorite parts were the ones where they talked about mail ordering and high school.

But also, the wearing will happen on the outside, not the inside, so if you just grab the blank spots such as the front, or the top back, or the top corners, the wear will be minimum to none at all. You want to know I know? Because you can feel it, that's why. Why can I feel it? Because I possess one of the many senses known to man. Now stop asking me stupid questions and go to bed. Okay... Baka... What was that? Nothing... Alright then.

What? Grab only the blank spots? How coordinated do you think I am?

I also liked the part where they were talking about the various seiyuu’s habits while recording and Mizuki’s seiyuu started talking about Taishi’s seiyuu’s, er, habit. Boy I’m looking forward to the next volume…

To paraphrase Slashdot: “I haven’t received my DVD, you insensitive clod!”

Gomen, fxho-san. Just really giddy at getting the title after all this time.

I have heard reviews saying CP is a parody on the whole industry is that true? It sounds very funny and I take it CP is as funny as the reviews say?

Comic Party’s pretty good. As for parodying the doujinshi world, I wouldn’t know anything about it, but one thing’s certain, they parody the hell out of To Heart.

Oh, by the way, has anyone had the chance to check out World of Narue, yet? Looks interesting, but haven’t heard any feedback on it yet.

Hey I am still waiting for them get it in at The right stuf let alone get it shipped to me. Grumble grumble grumble.
Any how I hope to check out The world of Narue and " The world of Lum" (Urusei Yatsura ) and compare the two.

Well as to World of Naru I have a shipping notice from them about it, might arrive tomorrow or Saturday and one that hopefully I will have a chance to view this weekend.

Yeah some people have already recieved the narue box from rightstuf. Unfortunately I’m not one of them as I ordered mine pretty late in the game so I expect mine to take a while to arrive

Yeah, I’m still waiting for my World of Narue. I’m right now watching MKR. The second box I ordered from the Rightstuf sale finally got here last week, and I was in a fantasy mood, so I decided to start in on it.

And it looks like I have to pick up Comic Party… sigh is there ever an end??

The World of Narue is actually a very good series, one of those that I think are far too short and yet just the right length, it’s one that is hard to explain in how it is good, but that is sort of the way I think of it after having seen World of Narue so good at least one more episode would have been nice, but just the right length because maybe one more would not have been needed. See this is why I am not a reviewer how was this vague review?

I just finished watching the last Someday's Dreamers DVD. For those wondering, it's a very nice, slow going show. It's both relaxing and dramatic at the same time. My only regret is that it's only twelve episodes long. This is one show that definitely needs to be longer. There's a lot of unexplained that goes, um, unexplained. But, all in all, It's just a great show.

I just finished the first volume of Someday's Dreamers and thought I'd bring it up again. This is a great magical universe anime without the usual demon/ritual/weaponry hokiness. On the other hand, it says something [perhaps unintentionally] about bureaucracies whose purpose is to control our lives. The main characters are adult and likable.

It is a short series, and I know I'll hate to see it end, too. On the other hand I just started vol 1-3 of InuYasha, and that's a series I don't think I'll stay with, despite loving every KOR release.

Now is a great time to get into either series. Both box sets are in the Animenation Clearance Store and RightStuf has a 20% in stock clearance sale going for most volumes [I think they ran out of Someday's Dreamers 3.]

I personally found Narue no Sekai (World of Narue) to be slightly disappointing. While I liked the series, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.

When you consider Narue’s somewhat unusual lineage and behaviour in the first 2 or 3 episodes, the series became a little too “normal” further out. Granted, it was still fun and an enjoyable sci-fi/romance cross, with a few unusual situations arising with regards to Bathyscaphe and Narue’s headband. But I felt it didn’t fully exploit Narue’s rather unusual personality the way it was depicted in the first few episodes, she just seemed like any other school girl after that.

Still, it was a good series, though a bit short and felt like it was unfulfilled near the end. Just my opinion.
