** Grumble ** Where are the lemons when you need them? Mine is still back ordered as of today!

As for the posting about Narue being a normal school girl , she has to hide the alien part of herself I guess.
Now if you want a less normal school envorment get Urusei Yatsura.

Ah, no. She doesn't hide it. In fact, the student catalogue even lists her as an extraterrestrial, if I'm not mistaken. Haven't you seen the series? The fact about her being an alien (but nobody believing it) is a pretty big part of the plot early on. Also, even if she had to hide an "alien personality", why did it stop showing after episode 2, even when they were alone.

It was just kinda weird (and disappointing) how quickly she became like any other school girl.

If I have seen the series would I be buying it? Where's a Baka hammer when you need one?

No kidding. It was scary when I sat back and realized that the shelving space devoted just to anime is about 4 times the size of that devoted to regular movie DVDs. My manga isn't in much better shape. I remember when it was pretty much just Usagi Yojimbo books and now they've multiplied like, er, bunnies. (I can't believe my mind just went there, Nyquil must be kicking in or something...)

You better get a new shelf just for Bunnies then until we know what just kicked in. My shelf is much the same
about 4x more anime than movies. Is it just me that the movies have gone down in quality ( now mostly teen movies ) and anime has gone up in quality?
PS. I too plan to get Comic Party too.

Here.

==::BAKA::==

I have already seen most of the series, having downloaded the fansubs. I like it; I'm going to buy it. Put that straw man away ^___^

Slight Spoiler

Yeah but I think it would have gotten old fast and somewhat stereotypical if she had stayed different. I think it was a great idea to have her become 'normal' which to me is a not entirely true, but even if it is true it is a good idea because it is not good to have her too much of an outsider. Anytime I have seen anime where one of the characters is and stays an outsider I somewhat feel sorry for them, just my opinion.

I think that is a fair statement only it might be movies have gotten a lot more conservative and cliched when they are trying to be 'rebels'.

There is a new movie coming out not sure the title, which is billed as 'the movie about cutting school' and all I think of is it's been done and probably a lot better in Ferris Bueller's Day Off , only for this one it is those twins whose name also escapes me at the moment starring. So yeah I think quality of movies overall is going down and anime going up.

I buy a lot of manga and anime from what I've previewed with scanlations and fansubs. From the fansubs/scanlations I've seen so far, I'm gonna buy Gundam Seed, Narue no Sekai, Full Metal Panic (missing 1 DVD), Azumanga Daioh, DNAngel (manga) and many others. With the costs of anime DVDs and manga, the bishoujo games I buy, and the fact that I have a tight economy, I don't buy anime DVDs and mangas I don't know if I'll like. Usually. Nothing baka about it. If it's worth owning, it's worth watching more than once.

Why waste money on DVDs you might not like, when you can get only the ones you really like?

You know all this talk about baka hammers, reminded me about the wonderful news that Kodocha is finally liscensed here in R1. Funi is supposely going to release it next year For those of you who don’t know Kodocha is the shortened name for Kodomo no Omocha. The manga is already out by TP and it’s hilarious, People need to get this too

Hmm, now that I’ve seen Happy Lesson volume 3, it does contain 4 episodes but one is episode “11.5”. It says it’s an “extra happy lesson”, not sure where it came from though. But since a nice portion of it has most of the female characters going to an onsen, it’s not like I would be complaining about it…

Yeah I saw that too in Happy Lesson volume 3 and was wondering if it was not just some parody on all the computer terms and volumes because of who seems to be the overall lead female character for that volume. Well it seems Happy Lesson Advanced will be coming over but first I notice that TRSI is now offering Happy Lesson OVA pre-orders.

Was the OVA then only 1 DVD or is it too going to be a 3 DVD set all released before Happy Lesson Advanced? Also does anyone know where it falls, if it falls, in the general time line of the show?

[This message has been edited by SCDawg (edited 04-20-2004).]

No one knows?

You can think of the Happy lesson ovas as an alternate universe, or a retelling of the first few eps of the TV series. My guess is the 3 eps will be on 1 dvd after they finish releasing the TV series. There hasn’t been a liscensing announcement yet for Happy Lesson advanced but the con season is still young and I expect it to be announced sometime this season

Thank you! yes that is hopeful news and hopefully future good news with the season still being young.

Is this a trend for anime by the way? I think it was with several others I have seen where the OVA or the television series often start off with a different retelling of the same basic how everyone met story. So far they have always been equally entertaining, but is that a normal trend for some anime at least?

I hate to change the subject so abruptly, but ADV just changed the look of their site sometime today, because I just visited them around 2:00am this morning, and it was still the old site. And I don’t care for the new look. It’s confusing, or something.

Did they change both the manga and films sites? The manga at least looks the same to me, maybe I just did not visit it a lot before hand.

Just the film site. Although, I am wondering when they’re going to finish up the manga site. I know they’re not done because the site just looks half-assed.

Although, they did add a shopping section where you can buy straight from them now. I’m not going to though, because I can get it cheaper elsewhere.

I actually wondered why they did not have one to start with, all others seemed to have their own shop. Even Tokyopop had a link to another site or their shop at another site or whatever you want to call it.

I do know a few places to get this cheaper too so I will head there still to buy, nice to know though there will be once more source.
