I'm joking, at least as far as any of you know. And I stopped trying to figure out all the contradictory, strange or confusing things in society. I just end up with a big bloody headache when I do.

Didn't want to interrupt your conversation but I'm too lazy to do this brief foray on any other thread. I read the first volume of Negima this weekend. And my first thought is, did Akamatsu-sensei have a nervous breakdown one day and try to figure out how many different hairstyles he can do? I mean, I am enjoying it so far, but I'm also constantly flipping back to the page that showed the chart with all 31 students in a vain effort to keep track of who's who.

Well for some strange reason I like finding out how society continually talks out of somewhere other then it's mouth and hardly every realizes it's doing it.

Negima is a good book, I picked it up a few weeks ago at a local bookstore. I think he has another great series going there, but I admit for a while I was looking back and forth to the list of the girls until I gave up and just focused on the four that seem to be the main female characters.

Speaking of which and this is a possible ***SPOILER****

did anyone else notice the 'Mulit-like' student character in there? She is at least listed on the student roster, have not seen her in the story yet, but it is another great series in which I think he will have a hit on his hands.

Negima is cool I really liked it, read most of this weekend. And yeah 31 girls well 32 if you include the assistant is much remember. I think that’s why he made that students list so we can go back and forth to see who’s who, remember it’s only the first vol so we haven’t had much time to memorize the women. Maybe by the time we hit the 5-6th vol we will know each of the girls

I think I’ll just end up photocopying the page so I can have it next to me as I read. I mean, I wish I could just focus on a few girls but my brain immediately wants to be able to distinguish who’s who. And knowing me, I’ll be scribbling notes next to each picture just like he does…

Heh yeah I loved it when he was scribbling meanie on asuna's name Just as you'd expect what a 10 year old would do to get back at someone.

Yeah I have enjoyed Steel Angel Kurumi but have never heard of Gunsmith Cats. What is that show about?

Most of the anime I know about are those that either have been recommended here, or are ones listed under the "If you liked this anime" sort of listings on various sites.

Or the little horns he draws on her head too, another pure 10 year old moment along with I think the sticking the tongue out at the picture.

Yeah it’s lookling like negima is gonna be one of many manga series I’m gonna be following Akamatsu really has refined his art from his AI love you days.

True it is,actually it’s one of my favourite series now.But sadly it seems impossible for it’s anime to be on tv in my country. They say that it’s because negi has alot of fanservice that include minors.

BTW,anybody know if the spell that negi cast actually has any meaning coz they look like latin to me

It’s about two bounty hunter girls that had a weapon shop. One is good with guns and the other with explosives(too good that she practically destroys more than the target ).It has manga and ova version

Sounds very interesting of an anime, thanks for the information.

You mean the new manga Negima? I did not know it was even finished in manga form yet let alone an anime. I thought what they said in the back of the first book was the U.S. release was only a month or two behind the Japanese release, so they might have Volume 2 out in Japan right now but not more then that, or was that a misread?

I believe it's a misread. They were saying they're about a year behind the Japanese version. So since volume 2 is slated in English sometime in August, the Japanese version probably came out late summer last year. Hmm, maybe I should look into picking up the Japanese version...

It’s quite the coincidence that you are all talking about Akamatsu, the author of Love Hina, and his other series. Someone even mentioned “AI love you”…
which is exactly (I think) I’m going to talk about…

I picked up the first volume of “AI non-stop!”, released by Pika Editions in French. It was the first successful manga by Akamatsu. I’ve read the first chapter while driving home with the bus, and I love it already.
Too bad something similar never happens to me.

Yes there are times in manga and anime that I pause and think, “Geez why doesn’t that ever happen in real life, more importantly to me in real life”. I mean such classic lines like one from Steel Angel Kumurmi come to mind in that category.

The line by Kurumi? “If it would make you feel better you can take my clothes off first”. That is one that falls in the “if only” category. Though I guess we all have ones like that from manga and anime huh?

Has anyone read Chrono Crusade if so is it a recommended manga?

I have a friend who likes the anime. He says it's decent enough and plus he likes the "nuns with guns" storyline.

It does seem to be pretty plot-heavy, usually a good thing.

Thanks for the information, sounds like something worth trying then the manga version of at least first.

I got the frist vol of chrono crusade manga. I’ve read through about half of it. It’s pretty good. Nuns with guns is a pretty good description, the orginazation is something like the hellsing organizaion in Hellsing but in america circ 1920’s. It doesn’t seem to be as dark as hellsing, but from what i’m hearing it does get darker later on.

As for the Negima manga I’m pretty sure that the japanese version is at least up to vol 4. So being a year behind is just about right.

Still recommended though? I will have to see if any of the local places have it.

Any other new manga that has been released anyone knows of that is recommended?

Someone told me just today that they had already started on plans for an anime version, but it would be too early for that wouldn't it?

Or are there times that they start the planning for the anime before the end of the series? Is this common with an 'artist' like Akamatsu, who it can be basically guaranteed will finish the series? I know it has happened with other series such as Gate Keepers which has been holding at volume 2 for a while now despite the anime being out in Signature Series by this time, but is that common to more then a few manga to anime shifts?

Chrono? It’s good, certainly quite dark but the manga version is still lighter than the anime, with more jokes.I don’t recommend any fanatics to see it tough. There are some controversial issue like stigmata, church allying with demons and so on

Regarding Negima’s anime,I don’t think I make a mistake. My friend sweared she had seen the anime when I showed the manga. And yes, some manga are made into anime even before they finish, this result to unfinished ending or different ending.Good example for these are D.N. Angel,Candidate for Goddess,Full Moon wo Sagashite and so on.
Oops, almost forget that Love Hina also unfinished, altough unsure whether it was released before the manga finished

This kind of anime usually end without releasing sequel and of course are dissapointment to fans.Let’s hope Negima don’t follow the same path.

Same question:anybody know if Negi’s spell hve any actual meaning?

The love potion spell? Well it is meant to sound Latin or perhaps French, but as far as I can tell it does not translate to anything, and I did ask around with people that know French and Latin to see if they recognized any of the words and they did not, so as far as I can tell it is meaningless.
