So how many here watch anime and read manga

Or are there times that they start the planning for the anime before the end of the series? Is this common with an 'artist' like Akamatsu, who it can be basically guaranteed will finish the series? I know it has happened with other series such as Gate Keepers which has been holding at volume 2 for a while now despite the anime being out in Signature Series by this time, but is that common to more then a few manga to anime shifts?

Yup plans are already in the works for this series. I believe a preview or pilot for it already has been made. Ken akamatsu was commenting on it in his blog. I believe it is also mentioned in one of the Negi drama cds that was just released. My guess is it'll probably be next season when we'll see it.

Well it’s not unheard of to have the anime and manga released at the same time. I believe full moon sagashite, the anime was released really close to when the manga first came out. In fact Tanemura Arina cut short the series she was origionally doing so she could do Full Moon and have it animated.

I might be blanking but what is a blog?

Okay, I guess being on the other side of the ocean, I just assumed nothing since we were getting both on an understandable delay from the Japanese release, so no real way to tell which came first or if both were being worked on at the same time, or before the other was finished.

I know here, for example, the manga versions of Rune Soldier, Mahoromatic and, Kurumi are either just coming out or have not completed their series run yet while all the anime versions are completed released, but I was not sure if that was because one came before the other, how they were released in the U.S. or some other reason, such as near synchronous runs.

A blog is a term that stupid people invented to mean weblog.
A weblog is a sort of online diary.

Ah thank you, okay an online journal of sorts, now that makes more sense.

Why are they stupid for inventing this abbreviation? Abbreviations can serve many purposes. In this case "weblog" is two syllables (involving a slight pause between the 'b' and 'l' sounds, no less) whereas "blog" is only one. This makes 'blog' significantly easier to say than 'weblog', which is the main motivation for abbreviations in the first place.

Now, if they'd taken up the term 'iDiary' or 'eLog', that'd be something different...

Let me guess though, the one you were talking about the one by Akamatsu is in Japanese and there is no translated version on the web?

Next season as in 2005 before the manga finishes it's run?

Because it was totally unnecessary. Abbreviations are used to shorten long words. This isn't even a real abbrevation. It's just two letters cut off. It's the same as the stupid trend to not type all letters of a word correctly or using correct grammar. It's useless.

Welcome to web culture Maybe it's because people are slow typers and every keystroke not pressed means faster messaging, or it's just lazy ass people who figure you'll understand what he means even if a few words are left out. Whatever the case that's the trend we're heading toward get used to it. Could be worse people could be speaking in L33T

Nope, sorry his personal web page is in japanese. Although he does have an international fan board that you can leave messages for him. Here's the addy
http://www.ailove.net/main.html

My best guess would be in 2005, doubt it would air this year. If it was going to air this year they would have a lot more promotional material and magazines like megami and newtype would have been covering it. Course I could be wrong. And the manga is a long ways away from finishing it's run. Negima is pretty popular overseas and based on his previous work I wouldn't be suprised if this series goes on for a while. Love Hina was 14? volumes(can't remember) so it could easily top that count considering there's 31 girls for him to hook up with

I will keep resisting to the ways of the lazy, dumb people.
You will notice that it's exactly that kind of people who always communicate in that way. Only they are heading towards that trend. The intelligent people don't and they retain their correct ways and remain credible.
Honestly, would you believe someone who "typs liek dis" or "types like this"? The way you write on the Internet shows your intelligence, in most cases.

Thanks for the site, and yeah Love Hina was 14 volumes. I can understand why Negima is so popular overseas. It is also pretty popular here from what I can tell from some of the stores I go to with signs mentioning they will be getting new copies in shortly. There are actually two stores that I know of with those signs, and a few more I have been told about in this area.

Anyway, do you think it will go the same length or longer then 14 volumes?

They're not ALL lazy and/or dumb. Many people simply cannot type more than 10 or 15 words a minute. Being computer-illiterate does not make you stupid. Neither, indeed, does not speaking English well. God knows if I attempted to speak Japanese or French here I'd (rightly) be laughed silly.

I, as well, tend to have low opinions of posters who make lots of grammatical and spelling mistakes; many of them really SHOULD be better and just don't bother/care. But not ALL do, and enough people are perfectly normal, with some perfectly respectable reason, that you shouldn't jump to conclusions.

From what I read FMP sounded really interesting, though I only recently got around to watching the Newtype promo from awhile back. But now, I'm even more tempted. *Sigh* Looks like I'll have to work it into my schedule somehow...

And bringing back the subject of manga, I finally got ahold of Chobits #7 last night. (I just couldn't find it anywhere, and believe me, I looked hard!) Now that I've read it, I can see why that volume got gobbled up so quickly. Can't wait for the final volume, assuming I can find it somewhere!

Full Metal Panic is awesome. As for Chobits, I really liked it; but then, that plotline is one of my buttons. I like almost any storyline that intelligently brings up the question of "what happens when you create an AI? what does it mean to be an AI?" and so forth, and Chobits handles this question rather well.

I hate to be known as the person who always changes the subject, but I just watched Cosplay Complex, funny ass show, but it’s one of those shows that tests your anime skills. The more anime you’ve seen, the funnier it is because you get a lot of the inside jokes and references. Anyway, for anybody who’s seen it, there’s a scene when they introduce the new member and they mention the names Hiromi and Takaya. Anybody know where those names come from?

Be thankfull you are not a Dragon Ball Collector. I never did like Love Hina. Anyhow my Anime collection over the upcoming few years I hope will be the complete Urusei Yatsura set and then maybe start on Maison Ikkoku.

Computer-illiterate doesn't mean that you can't spell or type. If they want to look stupid because they want to be fast/lazy, that's their own choice and they should be punished for it.

That's a good reason, that they should mention on their first post, so that then we can take that into account.

I liked the Love Hina manga a lot more then the anime, for many reasons and never could get into Dragon Ball . Is all of Urusei Yatsura even out on anime yet?

Urusei Yatsura with pre-orders is up to episode 100 out of 196?. Maison Ikkoku is episode 36 out of 96.

She has long anime series based on her manga doesn’t she? There is at least one more and I am blanking on the name, which is even wrose since it is airing on Adult Swim, but that too is a very long one isn’t it?
