What do you want Peach Princess to translate next?

They are not ero. Basically this means ‘forget about it’. The only company around localizing non-H games is Hirameki. And they’re in real trouble if they don’t get new titles in the pipeline; there’s no way they afford to pay for rights to something like SisPri.

A bigger problem is this: eroge have low enough sales. Getting people to pay for non-eroge b-games is going to be even harder since there’s not the obvious hook.

Certainly not impossible, but basically close enough to it. Especially for PeaPri.

I wonder how much the license to SisPri would cost… I mean it was one of the most popular and financially successful titles ever made in Japan. The series even had versions released in Taiwan and Singapore.

SisPri literally made millions upon millions of dollars, made G’s Magazine what it is today, and practically defined “daisuki oniichan” sisters. That can’t be cheap.

… or Karen! … or Shirayuki! … or …

If anyone knows a company willing to license a non-hentai otome game cheaply, I can find places for it to go… but I doubt that ‘cheaply’ is available.

papillon
Why non hentai? (I don’t really care but some games liek Under the Moon and My Master…hee)
Koei and Konami probebly will have high license fees sigh.

Maybe Quinrose? There otome games are fun. The Alice series that is. To bad there 2nd Alice game has really bad bugs =___=;;

Isn’t it obvious why non-hentai?

I’m not a hentai game company. And none of the publishing avenues I’m thinking about would go NEAR hentai. The casual games industry has a lot of female players. A game aimed at a female audience, with pretty graphics, translated and stripped down to a nice downloadable package (probably throwing out the voice acting, or at least making it an optional patch to download separately) would be feasible.

It would be easier to convince publishers to take the games if they weren’t pure visual novels. Simulation or something would go over better.

However, it’s highly unlikely that a company would be willing to give up a title for the sort of investment I can afford to risk. If I were fluent in Japanese the thing to do might be to look for dojinsoft producers that might be willing to make deals…

Maybe it’s useless to ask, but I’d really like to see a translated version of some key’ games like :
Clannad
Kanon
Little Busters

There are hentaÔ versions of kanon and LB but it’s not as if it was so important to have the hentai scenes for those games.

In a more common style (more hentai) I’d like to have those two :

Eternal Fantasy http://www.getchu.com/soft.phtml?id=434925

Kira Kira http://www.getchu.com/soft.phtml?id=433225

Oh, Key games are just as impossible as SisPri, just not for the same reason. Key is wildly popular in Japan, which means they are going to want barrelsful of money – which the game will NOT recoup, even if they sell ten times as many copies as any h-game ever sold before.

The last time a really big company tried was Knights of Xentar – one of the Dragon Knight series made by Elf – and it cratered bigtime. So the big-name Japanese companies are going to be very leery of taking things to America, and Key is definitely big-time.

Has PP ever considered subbing the openings for games they localize? IIRC, GC did translate the blocks of text in the Crescendo OP, but that was it. No Name Losers, in their english translation of eroge demos and Wind, ALWAYS sub the openings.

I assume they don’t do it to save time?

Honestly since most eroge intro video are in AVI/MPEG format, using a video editing program would be simple… err… for those who know how to use them of course! I’m surprised no one in the PeaPri community has bothered doing it via YouTube or something. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not sure about Air and Clannad, but doesn’t Kanon only have 1 H-scene per girl(in the ending)? If that was the case, I always thought Hirameki(before they went down) should have picked it up quickly since there really isn’t much eroge content and is more focused on the story.

Anyway, I would like to see a game aimed towards the female audience translated. I don’t know any game titles, but it should feature a female protagonist.

I would also like to see Fate/Stay Night translated.

I would like to see “Fate/Stay Night”, “After…” and “Gun-Katana”

I’d prefer a non-yaoi game…
Feed us with cute twin girls please
something like Futari de Hitotsu no Koigokoro

I’m not suggesting that Otome/Yaoi take over the market ( although that would suit me pretty well actually) , but I do think that a otome/yaoi game released now and then would be nice.
I know the yaoi games that have come out didn’t do very well, but I think the games that were chosen played a big part in their lack of success. I’m big into yaoi and while I enjoyed the story of Enzai, the dark storyline, excessive rapes and very young looking main character scared off a lot of potential customers. A yaoi game with a more light hearted mood ( such as the mood of the very successful XChange sereis ) would probably do really well. There’s a big yaoi/shojo market out there, and I believe yaoi and otome games can be profitable if the right games are chosen and marketed alongside the bishojo games.

What about Daiakuji or Sora no Iro, Mizu no Iro?

I’d also like to have Triangle Heart, but that’s probably too expensive though…

I’d love to see Shuffle and Kashimashi:Girl Meets Girl.

As nice as it would be to see Shuffle done, I doubt it will ever happen. There is a fan patch in progress, so that’s about as much hope as one can get.

That one looks like something I’d be interested in; the girls are cute and it doesn’t seem to be all-sex-no-story (this is just a guess, I can’t read the Japanese text at the website.) It’s got very good ratings at ErogameScape and is marked with a ‘best game’ tag at Getchu. Definitely consider this title for licensing, PP.
